Point 7 is telling.

;tldr they ban anti-AI because they're in the AI game.

Not funny. I've been noticing this a lot in articles even from reputable news agencies.

This is article is for anyone who doesn't think their vote matters. The population of a busy Second Cup coffee shop decided that riding.

Wow, for some reasons my brain had locked that guy in as Jeff Daniels.

Toronto City Council is expected to vote in late May on a controversial “bubble zone” bylaw that would prohibit protests around faith-based and cultural institutions.

The debate in Toronto follows similar discussions across Canada in response to protests against Israel’s war in Gaza in the aftermath of the Oct. 7 attack.

Modern era. Living 5 centuries in the past would suck. No germ theory of disease so everyone is ignorant regarding the importance of washing hands and basic cleanliness. Anything wrong with you? Better get the leeches to balance your humors. Uh oh, stubbed my toe. Guess I'll just die.

The only caveat is if you get to know what you do now and can transform society because of it. As King I'd either bring about the Renaissance within a decade instead of centuries unless I was branded a heretic by the Church and beheaded for flapping my mouth.

Techies in Europe – who obviously have a vested interest in unsettling Microsoft stronghold on the market as AWS, Microsoft, and Google have upwards of a 70 percent share of the public cloud sector in the region – previously highlighted the potential dangers of US legislation.

I've mentioned this before as a criticism for Canadian boycotts of the US. Every large Canadian website, even Government and News use US cloud services. Every. One.

Frank Karlitschek, CEO of Nextcloud, told us in March, "The Cloud Act grants US authorities access to cloud data hosted by US companies. It does not matter if that data is located in the US, Europe, or anywhere else."

How was this allowed to happen? The minute that law was passed all sites that use them should have discontinued their contracts. JFC.

The people that didn't vote against this shit are going to suffer for it.

Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?

The Democrats should never have to take positions or do things to make voters like them

Not when the only viable alternative is literal fascisim. At that point all the opposition party against fascism should have to do is not goose-step on camera, but apparently a whole lot of 'murican voters don't understand direct consequences of inaction.

By not voting no matter who you said "I am okay with what is happening now", and you were WARNED this would happen before you chose not to vote (or voted for the self-admitted spoiler) so all this bluster to shield yourself from reality isn't fooling anyone that understands a room gets dirty if you don't clean it.

Look at Canada. Almost 70% voter turnout and the results prevented not only a Trump boot-licker from getting into power but kicked him out of his own fucking riding. Did people vote less progressively than they'd have liked? Absolutely. FPTP is a flawed system, but that doesn't matter. What matters is Canada won't be Zeig-heiling for the next four years and we can still work towards fixing the system instead of worrying about brute-squads arresting innocent citizens and deporting them without due process for opposing the Government. That is the power of forethought and action instead of excuses and apathy.

Ranked ballots could have given Liberals majority: prof

In 2025, Miljan says a ranked ballot may have helped the Liberals eke out a majority — the party landed at 169 seats, falling just three short of a majority government.

"I don't think it would have made a big difference, except probably in the few ridings where there were three-way splits, where you might have gotten a few more NDP seats and probably equally more Liberal seats," she said. "In that respect, you would have had a Liberal majority, most likely."

World leaders have congratulated Mark Carney on leading the Liberals to victory on Monday with some signaling that it marks the start of a stronger relationship with Canada in the face of growing unease with U.S. President Donald Trump.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said “the bond between Europe and Canada is strong — and growing stronger.”

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast authorities on April 28 announced mandatory evacuations of families with children from four eastern villages, as Russian forces advance toward the region's administrative border.

A man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson has been told he will not face any charges, British prosecutors said Tuesday.

Johnson played for the Nottingham Panthers and died shortly after his neck had been sliced in a collision with Sheffield Steelers defenceman Matt Petgrave during a game on Oct. 28, 2023.

A man was arrested two weeks later and though South Yorkshire Police has not publicly identified him, Petgrave himself said in a crowdfunding appeal for legal fees that he's the subject of a police investigation.
