Hey everyone, wanted to throw up another thread to talk bean and roaster recs. Wanted to try something new!

I just got a Brazilian Rose Diamond coffee from a local roaster. It’s super earthy and tea like with rose. Been loving it!

Home roasting tips? (lemmy.world)

I’ve been thinking about getting into home roasting, anyone got any tips of first roasters and places to check out for green beans? I was thinking a SR800 with extension tube from sweet Maria’s and the green coffee there as well but love to hear other thoughts!

I have so many questions and need to watch this

It was quite a jarring experience at first, and I like a lot of Wes Anderson’s work. But it’s grown on me a lot over the last few weeks. He tried something new and I like that in a director. I need another rewatch with rewind to fully get it I think.

That was an amazing opening sequence / first act, it flew by but felt like an entire movie within itself

Yah I saw the sequel in the Wikipedia page and it just seemed so wrong after the way the film ended

I had only ever seen Ford in blade runner, Indy, and Star Wars so this was a great change of pace

I love how when they’re arresting the other escaped convict, the girlfriend is just screaming and Tommy lee Jones just casually goes, “shut up!”

It was honestly kind of a stacked year for movies that year

I watched this movie last night and I absolutely loved it. Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones both killed it. The pacing was perfect and intense. It was all around an amazing film. I wondered why it didn’t win best picture that year until I saw who did win it.

I’m trying to find more communities to keep up with computer vision and photogrammetry research. I’d love to start some if there’s no any.

To be fair on the two part movies, Dune was designed to be two parts (and it kinda fits the story). Across the spider-verse is more of a empire strikes back type of situation of setting everything up for the next film.

Hey y’all, it’s time to recommend what beans you’ve been brewing with this!

I’ve been brewing with tropical weather from Oynx (https://onyxcoffeelab.com/products/tropical-weather?variant=31862710173794). I’m not usually a blend guy but I’m really digging it. It’s sweet and tea like with a little fruit. It’s great stuff.

One of the best parts of a new roaster or bag of coffee is, to me, seeing new bag designs. What’s your favorite roaster designs and do they match the flavors well?

It’s either a rabbit hole or not worth the trouble for people

I did a bean thread last well and had an amazing time so I wanted to try to make it a consistent thing so here’s another one! I expanded it to new brewing methods or tips anyone has tried.

I’ve been doing Black Cat espresso (https://www.target.com/p/intelligentsia-direct-trade-black-cat-classic-espresso-roast-dark-roast-whole-bean-coffee-12oz/-/A-15354287) from intelligentsia and been pulling pretty good Moka pot shots with it.

A great video essay about Brad Bird and his approach to animation as an art form. A great up and coming youtuber who's commentary I enjoy a lot.
