30 minutes.

I took 30 minutes of my time to walk to an interview at a place that allowed candidates to schedule their own times online, only to be told that the manager isn't there and that I have to schedule for another time.

Then I took 30 minutes to walk back.

That is an hour that I could've used to apply for more jobs, work on music, or literally anything else wasted because a company was too inefficient to get their time slots correct.

I will not be doing a follow-up.

Imagine if it were raining and my friend who has been helping me out with Ubers and whatnot paid for me to get there? Would be even worse.

Update: Because the auto payment for my phone went through, my bank is now in the negatives. I still require the same amount and have not been hit with any overdraft fees (yet), but I'll update this.

Here is the follow-up where I told her that she has no legal basis to charge me for this

She showed up today, and she said, "I don't know what else to do but replace it entirely, so if you want to save your money, you can find a way to fix it yourself." This implies that she is still clinging onto the baseless premise that I must've been responsible for this, something she has absolutely zero evidence for and is using her vibes as the source of the belief.

I told her that I will find a cheaper solution and get back to her within a week.

(However, to be clear, I am not going to try to actually implement any DIY fixes because I know that could make me liable if I actually do cause damage in the process.)

What I'm actually going to do, instead, is contact her in a week to let her know that she still has no legal basis to charge me for this and that she is free to replace it, but it cannot come out of my money without sufficient evidence that this is beyond normal wear-and-tear.

Basically, I'll just be reiterating what I already said.

Got a lovely plant-based cake that my friend gave me and eating that good but don't have any "real" food at the moment.

Got a job interview a bit later and there are stores nearby, so I may be able to grab something on my way back.
