It's the term for the primal urges, and instincts I believe, in Freudian psychology. In German it is "das Es" which would translate to "the It". More I cannot really explain

Why would they? They get the money. I feel like that system is just prime corruption/malpractice and leads to crap like this.

It's for profit all the way through

While that's true, there's also the "Works on my machine" effect.

It might've been less obstructive on their pc than on op's

Basically, catholic church has confessions. Y'know, those booths with the priest and the confessor?

Luther didn't like that, and a myriad of other things, and decide to make it known. This, more or less, caused Protestantism

Calling oneself Empress or Emperor usually does imply that, I guess

IMO, it's often not even "war bad" but "fighting bad". Thus wanting the defender not to defend because that would be just as bad as attacking.

I consider myself a pacifist, so I prefer peaceful and diplomatic ways before going to war. But if you are attacked, you have the right, if not the duty, to defend yourself and your citizens.

Edit: changed citizen to cititens

To me, it feels like something I'd call Cassettepunk. Basically the point in time where computers were using magnetic tapes and floppies, but extended into the future. The tech doesn't really get any better in terms of detail, but it gets more screens, which mostly are CRT

Could I get some more context? Seems like an interesting rabbit-hole to alice-about in

It's a joke about the bat being upside down.

Duckling got themselves a helium balloon and a, probaly air filled, balloon for their bat friend. As balloons from our perspective always go up, it needs to go down for the bat to be in the perspective.

It's a cute gesture and, imo, highlights inclusion by accommodation

Hello, the issue is pretty much laid out in the title. I am trying to add my own lemmy instance to the instances in the app, so I can log in to my account.

It says it cannot find it, but I am not sure as to why it cannot find it, anyone here have any tips?

Thanks in advance :)

Edit: never mind, my MSP blocked my site for being unsafe

Hey guys, I am quite new to the whole self-hosting world so I haven't done too much. Before I dive in deeper though, I'd like to know how I should choose my domain name vendor. Specifically, I only want a domain, no VPS or other hosting capability as I got some old laptops running at home I want to use for testing the waters.

Thanks in advance!

The way I understand ACAB is not to remove all cops, but reform the system fundamentally. It's a flawed system encouraging bad behavior and silence.
