Hi Lemmy! I've just uploaded a new beta version that adds support for Lemmy 0.19.4 features, this is the changelog:

• Hide posts: Individual posts can be hidden now. There is Show hidden toggle on the toolbar menu (Lemmy 0.19.4)
• View previously uploaded images on your profile page, Uploads tab (Lemmy 0.19.4)
• Add custom thumbnail when creating a link post (Lemmy 0.19.4)
• Show mod/admin indicators next to usernames in posts and comments
• Fixed mark as read on scroll not working on some instances
• Bug fixes and improvements

• Mark as read on scroll (Settings-General-Posts). Posts will be marked as read when you scroll past them. Disable Show read posts in your Account Preferences and you won't see those posts again. Note: In Lemmy, voting, saving or reading comments of a post marks the post as read automatically
• Support for animated webp images
• Play gifs embedded in comments
• Show context option when visiting a single comment thread
• Fix long comment chains being unreadable
• Bug fixes and improvements

• View and resolve post/comment reports. There is a new moderation section available in the main menu (hamburger menu). It will show the new unresolved reports count.
• Show if an user is mod, admin or bot (A, M and Bot) next to username.
• Highlight moderator distinguished comments
• Show community moderators in community sidebar
• Set the default feed on app start from settings (Settings-General)
• View cross-posts of a post. While visiting a post, tap the 🔀 icon to view a list of cross-posts
• Cross-post a post to a different community (Post menu, Share, Cross-post)
• Show new comments counter since last visit

There are a lot of mobile clients for Lemmy. The web interface is not that great in my opinion, so a mobile app is kind of needed. Some of the more popular ones:

Lemmy noob here, have only had an account for a few days and been using Connect for even less. I've noticed that on desktop, GIFs that are linked in a post (Whether in the body or the URL section) can be watched without opening a new tab or leaving the page. So far, this does not seem to be the case on mobile, no matter the application (I've used Jerboa, Connect, and one other I already forget). Is this a matter of instance implementation, or application/site? And do sites need to be "whitelisted", or can any URL that leads to a GIF work?

This is a huge feature for me, and one of the biggest reasons I'm waiting on Boost for Lemmy

With that said, Connect is by far my favorite mobile app for Lemmy.

Originally established by moderators of r/Philippines as a short term Reddit alternative in response to the blackouts, it quickly took on a life of its own and now operates as a permanent separate community.

Members refer to themselves as either "lemmings", "lemons", or the few punny titles with an interesting backstory ("sinuka ng Reddit") such as "phlemmys" and "phlemmings".

The official mascot is a lemming (not a hamster!) dressed in barong tagalog and salakot named "Philemon" — a combination of Philippines and lemon, while also inspired by the Cebuano folk song "Si Pilemon" and a Yoyoy Villame hit called "Si Felimon".

The mucus on the sidebar Philemon is deliberate. Phlegm... phlemmy... get it? 🤪🥴

• For large images, it's recommended to use external image hosting like Imgur to limit strain on the server. Other hosts you can try are: PostImages, imgbox, ImgBB, and ImageBam.

• If you have to link to a Reddit post, please use Teddit.net or SafeReddit as much as possible.

• You can also run it into archive.org or archive.md like https://web.archive.org/ or https://archive.md/.

• When archiving Reddit links using web.archive.org: Change the Reddit link you want to archive from “reddit.com” to “old.reddit.com” as web.archive.org cannot effectively archive “reddit.com” and “new.reddit.com”. Or just archive the private Reddit frontends instead (teddit.net, safereddit.com, libreddit.kavin.rocks).
