This is a peculiar situation, but basically I have been transferred primary mod status on a community from a community squatter. Because they were just squatting on the community name they never made any posts. Is there any mobile app or web app that implements a way to remove someone as a mod if they have never made a post?

At the moment there doesn't seem an easy way to remove the creator of a community. You've need to contact the admin of your instance.

AFAIK there is no way (yet) but I hope that feature gets added eventually. I have the same problem - squatter only has a single post, and it wasn't IN the abandoned community, so no mod actions possible FOR the community.
