I have never regretted buying one. Took it on a long trip and didn't have to miss out on the games I usually play, plus I play a lot of games I don't normally bother with on my desktop.

It’s my favorite device. I’m amazed at how well it runs pretty much everything I throw at it, including unsupported games like DayZ. I take it with me pretty much everywhere, most recently I was playing Fallout 4 at sea world.

I've really been pleasantly surprised by how well Proton works, and how well the Deck performs considering it's a mobile device. It's actually my primary gaming device now, and I often play with it hooked up to my monitor. Sure, I won't get 4k @ 60fps, but considering my previous gaming setup was a potato model PS4, the Deck has been a step up and it runs way more games than a Playstation. Definitely good enough for my tastes

Broo, you could literally walk up to a Orca and show that mofo Half-Life 2 on your Steam Deck.

We are absolutely living in the future.

Yeah! There's games that aren't worth the trouble on PC, but that shine for playing on-the-go!

I play tons of great games on it that are flagged as unsupported. Many don't even need tweaks. There's definitely more than 15k.

2022, I didn't understand why anybody would get a Steam Deck.

2023, I was sick of playing side scrollers/metroidvanias on my computer, and got a Steam Deck. It becomes what I use for 95% of my gaming now.

2024, my gaming PC is begging me to touch her. I'm sorry my love.

For me the main limitation is things that require big screen/keyboard/mouse (RTSs and strategy stuff, potentially adventure games like Monkey Island which are awkward on a controller), but i imagine a dock will solve that issue, need to get one at some point

Adventure games are awesome on the Deck with the touchpads. I always configure them so that either one works. That way I can even play one handed while lying on my side.

RTS is much more difficult since you need to be quick. It's enough for the StarCraft campaign but not for multiplayer. I'm currently playing Dungeon Keeper which seems to be slow enough so far.

It's the best purchase I have made in a long time.
