I've basically made the switch 100%, and I'm finding myself a lot more active on here so far. Everything I've posted in any given community has resulted in a lot more friendly discussion here than it tended to on Reddit... honestly, so far this feels a lot better lol.

I've abandoned Reddit ever since a couple days before the blackout and it's been really nice. It feels refreshing to be part of what seems to be an upcoming community.
I have, 7 days clean off Reddit.
Oh definitely. I've been on a continuous Lemmy/kbin binge since Friday. This place is way more enjoyable than reddit because:
- Your voice matters. People actually upvote and reply!
- There is no karma! One less thing to obsess over (though you can see how many posts/comments a user has made).
- The content is much more interesting and reminiscent of the early days of Reddit.
- Maybe I'm too nerdy but I like how clean the site is.
- There is absolutely zero commercial interest across the entire lemmyverse and it's awesome. You can talk to actual people and have fun!
- It feels magical that there are all these different Lemmy and kbin servers and you can see people from 10 instances talking to each other in the same thread.
I just got started here after days of no reddit as more mainstream media picked up the protests and mentioned the Fediverse. Honestly, I love it for the reasons you outlined. Can't imagine going back. There's still some communities I don't have here, but I imagine they will form up eventually, and if they don't there's nothing I'd really miss, or if I did I'd create it myself.
I had eyeballed joining Mastodon when he-who-sucks took over twitter but wasn't real comfortable with figuring out something new at the time (for personal reasons). Glad I've gotten the kick in the butt to join the Fediverse! It's fun here!!
I'm on kbin but I've barely been on reddit at all since I switched. I'm enjoying watching the fediverse grow and begin to mature into the begining of a real threat to major social media monsters like reddit, twitter, Facebook, and others.
I am... but they nuked all my main/alts except a few. I keep them to keep control of my mod rights, but its coming to a point of I don't want to bother.
On reddit i usually was 1 hour a day, now I'm 3/4 on kbin. Imo it's more entertaining than reddit
I only get info from Reddit now and comment almost exclusively here. Old stuff is still good there, but it's time to move on

Reddit on Mobile is completely dead to me and I will only use it on my desktop for specific searches if the info is not available elsewhere (last resort).
0.1% of the time wil be spend on Reddit, with an ad blocker of course.
Yup. I was using the official app and I just went cold turkey on reddit. Now just on lemmy. I used the jerboa app for a few days but it's slow and I get a timeout toast anytime I do anything, so instead I installed the lemmy.world PWA

Ah I see. I’ve never heard the term PWA, but yeah I did that as well for lemmyworld on iOS. My one complaint is there doesn’t seem to be a way to refresh the “app”
My Kbin account has been seeing quite a bit of usage today if that counts.
What's the advantage of kbin? I haven't tried it yet.
I honestly don't know, but if I had to hazard a guess, it would be being able to interact with the Beehaw crowd.
Are other lemmy instances not federated with beehaw?
As far as I'm aware, only lemmy.world and some other instance I forgot the name of got defederated by them.
That sucks and seems pretty short sighted :/
Does this mean posts from beehaw will not be in my lemmy feed, or is it simply I cannot interact with those posts in such a way that beehaw users would see?

Yes, since yesterday I replaced Sync Pro on my screen with Jerboa, so I click it dozens of times per day. Today I haven't go on Reddit once.
I'd use Lemmy more if half the content wasn't about Reddit.
Please forgive me for doling out unsolicited advice. You may find it more beneficial to subscribe to communities and then browse your subscribed by default (it's in settings). The difficulty at this time is going to be getting engagement in the communities and getting people who would normally post elsewhere to also post here.
Im 90 % Lemmy and 10% Reddit right now. But i think that i soon will be 100% Lemmy. Only thing that stopping me from making the switch totally is some minor things about the mobile apps for Lemmy.
I've quit reddit 100%. I was a little bit addicted, so I used the blackout as a way to quit cold turkey. Lemmy kind of scratches the itch, enough that I don't go back to Reddit, but I don't spend as much time here as I did there. I'm counting that as a good thing
Me too. I used to spend hours on Reddit. Joined back in the day when Digg users migrated to Reddit. I do miss some of the subs, but I've also become bored with so much of the recycling. Lemmy and Kbin are relatively new, but I welcome the open source concept behind federation, and here's an opportunity to invest in creating and being part of communities that own their contributions.
my biggest problem is, that i have to create multiple accounts to watch my furry anatomy threads

@AskThinkingTim No, I mostly used Twitter (still) and used Libreddit and Stealth for Reddit because I didn't communicate anyway
I bailed off of Reddit three months ago, after /r/Pathfinder2e started reaching peak echo chamber.
I’ve not touched Reddit since the blackout started, and I won’t be going back.

Just kbin on desktop, but I'm still using Apollo. Not sure what's going to happen on July.
The mobile site actually feels better than the desktop. The desktop site has a lot of white space.
I’d say of all Reddit alternatives, tildes has the best desktop site. Lemmy and kbin have the best mobile sites
I used the be on Reddit every night for hours. Now Im on Lemmy for that time. There is no common sense there Reddit started to get boring and going waaay to far left. If you had any other opinion you got banned. Im more center than anything
I have only opened reddit when it returned search result of something very specific. (Yes without account and with add blocker. I am done with them)
Yup, stopped using it before the blackouts, deleted my account and now I'm here..or on kbin. But Lemmy feels a bit more to my taste.
Yeah I realized I don't use reddit for much. If it's just an endless meme scroller I can get that elsewhere. I was never big into any one community and beside the occasional shitpost, never had much karma either. I'm going to give lemmy and kbin several months and see where it goes
