Makes people feel they are independent when they are absolutely not
It's free money from people who don't understand that
SESAME STREET IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY BAE SYSTEMS. GET EDUCATED AND COME BUILD MACHINES OF DEATH, CHILDREN.
NPR* gets like less than 10% of their funding from the government. The VAST majority do their funding is from donations.
So that’s why…
Yeah, PBS/NPR get basically nothing from the government, actually. Anyone who says otherwise is entirely mistaken. They're not getting like secret NED money or something, they're almost entirely donation-funded but they are still a mouthpiece for the government and its interests. All of the propaganda, with none of the spending!
Not to quote Chum-ski, but manufacturing consent and blah blah blah.
To rise inside of NPR you have to be a shitlib and spouse shitlib takes. Doesn’t matter where their funding comes from. But I mean, it does come from shitlib donations so yeah.
Yep, exactly.
With NPR I always assumed those donation were helping to fund specifically the local branch of it
NPR is syndicated so if you donate to a local station they'll probably spend part of that money to pay for NPR content. I assume if you donate to NPR directly you're donating to NPR directly.
