That's right, taking on China should be much easier right?

Just thinking, for no reason, about that ammo shortage a few years ago that happened because all the primers came from China

[-] ComradePupIvy@lemmygrad.ml 17 points 7 months ago

And just saying the west currently has supply shortfalls due to the Ukraine

The goal was never to win, it was to try and make Russia's victory pyrrhic.

They absolutely thought they could force a regime change in Russia when the war started. Recall all the whole rouble will be rubble nonsense. The plan was to isolate Russia economically using sanctions and intimidate countries into not trading with Russia. Then Russian economy was supposed to collapse and people were gonna overthrow the government. This is why Europe went all in on the whole thing, they thought they're gonna ride it out for a few months and then they'd get to plunder Russia after that.

Of course that's not how it went, and that's when US started shifting towards the strategy of trying to make Russia bleed as much as they could. Europe ended up stuck following US even as it became clear that economic damage for Europe would be enormous.

Now, it's starting to become clear that the west failed to break Russia economically, and far from being weakened we're seeing a much stronger and more assertive Russia emerge backed by the Global South. This is the worst possible outcome for the west, and Europe in particular.

Ukraine Can't Win the War

5 minute read

Lmao

[-] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 24 points 7 months ago

Right on schedule. We'll be seeing them blaming Ukraine's Asiatic horde blood for the loss soon enough.

[-] DankZedong@lemmygrad.ml 24 points 7 months ago

They won't have to. Sooner or later EU will continue the war for them since they now have completely lost their minds.

[-] yogthos@lemmy.ml 11 points 7 months ago

Given the state of European industry, the only way EU will continue the war is with NAFO troll brigades.

Putler now has Time on his side! Unbelievable!

[-] yogthos@lemmy.ml 14 points 7 months ago

Just so much blatant Russia propaganda in what used to be a respected liberal outlet. Absolutely disgusting to see this happen!

[-] kristina@hexbear.net 23 points 7 months ago

Wtf reddit told me they were winning cause one guy fought ten Russians one time?! How could this be?!

[-] Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.ml 20 points 7 months ago

The Biden Administration’s strategy is now to sustain Ukrainian defense until after the U.S. presidential elections in the hope of wearing down Russian forces in a long war of attrition.

This strategy seems sensible enough

Lmao, how utterly shameless. Imagine having to maneuver your military strategy around the elections of another country on another continent. Thank heavens Liberal democracy constantly undermines itself.
