So I've got the EA App installed on my Steam Deck via the Non Steam Launchers program. Everything was working great, but now the app wants to update and says it needs to restart. I let it do it's thing, it says it's downloading and applying the update and then it shuts down. When I open it again, it still says it needs to restart.

Does anyone know how to update the EA App when you have it installed this way? I've found posts online about how to update it when you have it installed directly, but since I didn't do that those methods don't seem to work.

Have you tried re-running non-steam launchers and reinstalling just the EA app? Hopefully it will install the latest version for you.

Yep, did that and it created a new EA App entry in Steam that did nothing. I ended up just hitting ‘start fresh’ and reinstalling the whole thing. I’ll have to re-download the game I was playing but at least it has cloud saves!

I have separate non-steam entry with EA installer that linked to EA app via STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH command. Every time EA app needs update I just run installed and repair existing instalation. Not most graceful solution, but it works.

Following, I have the same issue. I read somewhere else to reinstall and launch first thru desktop mode and try to update. Haven't tried but nothing stopping you from

Yep I just reinstalled it and it installed the latest copy. I had to redownload my game but at least I have the cloud saved.
