Oh god tell me about it.
I've run basic tests on myself. Even if I'm severely sleep deprived and desperately need rest ... if I can get to 10pm, there's always a "second wind" and the psychological readiness to "finally start the day".

3 out of 4 adults with ADHD have a delayed circadian rhythm: https://www.additudemag.com/adhd-sleep-disturbances-symptoms/
This is definitely me. Really infuriating when people tell you just to just sleep or it's all self discipline.
You just need to try harder! ๐
Remember that delayed circadian rhythm can happen for a number of reasons, not just adhd
The difference in risk for delayed sleep schedules between those with ADHD and the general population is so substantial and the link strong enough, that it has been considered as part of the diagnostic criteria for ADHD.
Ain't the comment about those adhd folks having that, while yours is the other 25%?
But do you actually get any work done?
Or do you feel energized because you know the day is over so you're free to do anything else besides what you were supposed to do?
I find if I work out hard enough during the day it can help... Usually.
Unfortunately due to the weather lately it's made it pretty hard to do much exercise so my sleep schedule is getting wacky again
Get something to exercise indoor or do calisthenics.
I've got a Proform H7, it doesn't take much space and woops my ass
I usually do calisthenics a apart of my morning routine to help wake me up
It's the hard cardio that helps me with sleep
I've been thinking about getting something so I can set my bike up as an exercise bike due to space constraints but that's something that I've been floating for awhile but seemingly can't find a way to commit to
If you want something that doesn't need setup get rollers, they're harder to get used to but you won't need a separate wheel with a spinning tire!
The desire to be productive after 10pm is the hardest part about living in an apartment for me.
I don't understand. What is the significance of living in an apartment in this case?
Not wanting to bother neighbors downstairs, mostly.
Good news! Night jobs exist and most of them pay better than day jobs! I was making 65k/year working nights in a job that requires a high-school diploma!
I tried that but they are very isolating. Also when I get off work I like to have a beer but good luck finding a place that will sell beer at 5am.
It's ok, just have a beer before work!
I sleep about 8 hours according to the clock.
But according to my pixel watch I only sleep 5:30-6:30 hours.
Maybe the same for you?
And I also have the same issue.
A bit tired at the eyes and ready for a small nap but as soon as the clock is 10pm and weekend I will probably stay up until 2am. Easily.
Hey, strike when the iron is hot, right?
This article was incredibly insightful for me. Thank you for sharing.
