Tbh she probably sealed the victory for el sayed, a lot of moderate dems were cold on him but stevens endorsement of rogers is so nakedly revolting that they're all gonna line up to vote against rogers even if they don't love the idea of El Sayed.

I hope she gets invited to every party held by the Republicans. Dumb cunt deserves it.

Man, centrist Democrats and leadership showing when the chips are down, there's progressives on the field, they cuddle up with Republicans.

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world -2 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

Maybe you can't read?

The entire story is "One asshole has been rebuked by the left and center of her party" and you somehow twisted that into "All democrats are bad?"

Either learn to read or stop posting.

[–] stephen01king@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago

This is after months of centrist dems participating in the Islamophobic attack against AES started by the Republicans.

[–] TheMinister@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

They’re alluding to the fact that when it comes down to it, corporate dems would endorse and support republicans over progressives because they have the same backers. This isn’t one asshole, this is part of a larger trend. Historically. When the choice is between fascism and leftist/even just progressive politics, corporate “centrist” dems will get in bed with fascists before they will support real change. Because real change hurts the bottom line or the most powerful (read: rich).

The entire Democratic party stood up and said NO here. IDK what the fuck you people expect, but you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world -1 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

The entire Democratic party stood up and said NO here.

Except for Haley Williams. Now surely the party will do something about her… right?

The same party that didn't try to lay into Cuomo for running as a spoiler candidate, that didn't back Madamni for a mayoral position of one of the biggest cities in the USA. The same that has also ran attack ads in this same race to just not vote at all despite blue no matter who. Man, the hypocrisy amongst the Democrat establishment and their supporters are striking and damning as hell.

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 hours ago

Honestly I don't think the Democrats even want the Senate because they will have to come up with excuses as to why they can't get anything done. Schumer won't do fuck all especially if Bibi doesn't approve. Need to get rid of Schumer if you want any actual change.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 17 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Shocked? I can understand heartbroken but shocked? Really?

Didn't see that coming a million miles away like a lot of us more left leaning and progressives did?

Maybe you guys should find a new profession then if you were shocked because you kind of suck at it.

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

One or the other makes a lot more sense than both.

[–] Snowies@lemmy.zip 16 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

We need to replace all the liberal democrats in our government with left leaning/DSA.

The people demand a party that will actually represent the working poor in this country, unapologetically, vehemently, with teeth, against corporations.

[–] zenitsu@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

In a country full of magatards? Gl hf

[–] kestrel7_7@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

The people who are currently talking about voting for AOC to own the mainstream Republicans? The people who think Mamdani is a conservative because he talks about helping working people? It would be a mistake to think that MAGA is ideologically consistent.

[–] EchoCT@lemmy.ml 21 points 9 hours ago (14 children)

If you're ever in a leftist space and you hear: "Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds."

This is what we mean.

[–] keb@lemmy.today 4 points 8 hours ago (3 children)

That doesn't make any sense though, because the vast majority of politicians condemning her are liberals.

She is going to be an AIPAC lobbyist now

[–] FatherPeanut@pawb.social 1 points 4 hours ago

Looking at how cash flow is routed between them, AIPAC is the largest donor of the both of them that I've found. Not that AIPAC wants to spend money, but if it buys loyalty, there's a possible connection to be found.
