What gets to me is the archaeological artefacts that get looted and then never seen again. Its low down on the list of things to hate the US's interventions for, but their wars in the middle east for example obliterated a lot of archaeological artifacts and infrastructure (like universities, native archaeologists, etc), and moved a lot of what wasnt destroyed into private owners collections

The ruins of Ur were crushed by American tanks and I will die mad about it.
And we can't even bother to plunder right. A self built obelisk is the faux facade of empire. Pshhtt
Rotting on some tech bro's yachts, yellowing in a sheik's private vaults, getting moth eaten in an oligarchs private cellar.
For what? To stand in front of and masturbate furiously? To hoard?
There are genuinely warehouses at airports with billions of dollars of art in them just sitting there rotting. Because they dont have to pay taxes on them if they never bring them into any country and they can leverage their claimed value even if no one ever sees the art.
And that's before we get into things like putting stolen art and looted artefacts on your yacht. This is as legit as it gets.
Didnt Zelensky get busted for having stolen artwork? Like, 2 years ago?
Google is giving me like seven thousand results saying that's fake Russian disinformation. So who knows. I think he's smart enough that he wouldn't hang art stolen the same year in his office that he uses for press events though.
So did Zahi Hawass, but Sisi got him off.
