CoMaps release 2026.10.05 is now out via F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, Codeberg and on iOS via the AppStore.

New features on Android include links to add Mangrove reviews via MapComplete and for iOS the support for CarPlay Dashboard.

The Google Play release is still waiting for review as has unfortunately become custom with their approval process.

Would be nice if you could add the link to the release notes next time.

Anyhow, thanks a lot for your work!

sorry, usually we do but I missed it this time!

Why the different feature set on ios vs android? I assume something to do with the store rules on each, but will reviews eventually come to the ios build too?

Anyway thanks so much for working on this, comaps is my primary app both for navigation and for hiking and I love it

It's just that the developers of each platform needs time to implement those features.

Oh that’s much more promising than I was expecting if apple’s bullshit rules aren’t the reason, thanks!

Is there a way to get CoMaps to work on Android Auto? I know Google blocks it by default

If you install the app from Google play store then it works on Android Auto

I have comaps from the fdroid store both on my last phone on stock android and my current fairpbone6 with CalyxOS.

It worked/works with android auto in both cases. You have to enable the setting to allow unknown app sources or something on older android like 12 IIRC.

New phone needed nothing to recognize fdroid apps. It even works only installing google and google TTS stubs and not the actual app, then using a 3rd party TTS like marmalade/supertonic

I was wondering the same thing.

I know the Google Play version supports it but I don't want to install Google Play.

I saw the AA mod that lets you watch Netflix on Android Auto, it's installed and enabled via developer options on Android Auto.

It makes me wonder if CoMaps can be enabled in the same way.

Map apps are unfortunately subject to other regulations than other types of apps for AA
