Its very easy to make fun of this... awful horrible thing. But I truly pity those who see this and think "I wont have to be lonely anymore!".l
There has been bouts of extreme loneliness in my life, and I really wonder if this came out back then, what would I have done, purchase one of these? Waste my money for a machine that listens to my every move? Haunting to think about.

There are pictures (well, they're embeds of Twitter posts) of many such defaced signs right there in the story? There were other stories with many other defaced signs besides. There was so much defacement that the friend.com CEO started saying it was an intentional part of the campaign.
