your refund comes from the company that sold you the finished product. not ambiguity. if i buy a dell and a graphics card fails, dell replaces. if it is the card maker's fault thats up to dell to work out but my relationship is with dell. if your iPhone screen has a defect, apple doesnt say "contact samsung".

digital storm is 100% respinsible for refunding the customer. doesnt matter if pny is liabke, that is digital storm's problem

I agree, but it is out of warranty from Digital Storm. This is why I like to build my own machines, a year warranty seems very short.

I’d go to the part manufacturer if my system was out of warranty as well, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the part manufacturer turned my warranty claim down.

Exactly. It's the same reason why if your landlord hires a maintenance worker to do routine maintenance and they damage your property, you have to go after the landlord, not the contractor. It's the landlord's responsibility to go after their contractor.

Granted the landlord won't tell you that.

So true. Prebuilt computers are more expensive and this is supposed to be the reason why! If something goes wrong, you have one company to contact to get relief.

Bought a beelink mini PC. The crucial ssd died with in 8 months of me owning the PC.

Warranty was denied because the SSD was nearly 2 years old. Beelink didn't warranty the SSD because it was made by crucial.

Pre-built computers are a shit show if you have to warranty them.

Listen I fucking hate corpos and all that but if you buy something with a warranty that short and just let it sit in a box until the warranty expires how is that the retailer's fault.

Considering how often these catch on fire, they should all be recalled.

Get government bodies involved and force the manufacturor to deal with it. That would be a lovely plan.
