Libraries are inherently not profitable and therefore any move toward privatization is a stupid one.

Thinking the same thing. There's got to be more to this. Is it a play to get ownership of the library buildings and turn it into law offices after the library business "fails"?

They want to gut a public service that tangibly improves people's lives to save 8 mill?? That's straight up bullshit, they want to pocket that money and profit from exploiting this community need.

I mean they have privatized hospitals and prisons...well, can't argue with the results. Next, police and firefighters (like the good ol' days).
