#76: Star Trek: The Animated Series, season 1, episode 8 "The Magicks of Megas-Tu"

Written by Larry Brody, directed by Hal Sutherland.

Stardate 5524.5 (early 2269)
(Using the novelization Stardate)

"Always so curious, that must be why I've always liked you Earthlings so much!" - Lucien

The Enterprise is sent to survey the center of the galaxy in the hopes of finding matter in the process of being formed. When they arrive, an interstellar storm catches the ship and sends it spinning out of control. Lieutenant Sulu manages to get the ship into the eye of the storm, but things only get worse. One by one, all of the Enterprise's systems give out - including life support. Just as everyone is about to suffocate, a strange, horned and hoofed humanoid appears and miraculously restores the ship's systems. This creature identifies himself as Lucien, and his abilities appear to be magic. Spock can find no explanation as to how he restored power to the Enterprise. Lucien invites Kirk and others to his home planet, speaking to then as if they were old friends, but he also warns them to stay out of sight of everyone else.
