Trump says Canada has “unreasonably imposed new barriers to United States companies seeking to access the Canadian government procurement market.”

His solution?

"...directing federal agencies overseeing government procurement in the United States to remove all products of Canadian origin."

This reminds me of incels for some reason.

"Debbie is a fucking bitch and won't fuck me even when I offer to pay her. Fuck Debbie and all the whores who look like her.

Starts cursing out all attractive women.

"Why can't I get laid?"

Isn't this what Russia says whenever one of their neighbors tries to defend their sovereignty?

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 37 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Threatening our sovereignty was a hostile act. We are just returning the favour.

[–] alexc@lemmy.world 44 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

We’re not even doing that. we’re finding new markets to trade our goods and services with that is a better return. This is called Capitalism and it’s what America claims to want.

[–] Kaput@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Se gotta sell thé stuff thé USA dont need, somewhere.

[–] DriftingLynx@lemmy.ca 29 points 2 weeks ago

Right wing snowflake, lol.

Given that no one has defined yet what "associate member of the EU" even means, if anything other than a mere decleration if intent for deepening cooperation, it is funny how rapidly Trump is complaining about it.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 14 points 2 weeks ago

Trump has turned Canada into the new hotness on the global stage. The world sees that idiot man baby attack us and Carney playing it super cool and just brushing it off. He knows Trump is a fool and he calmly lets the world know he knows. People fucking love that shit.

People used to say Trump's fumbling was actually 4D chess. The problem is the game is regular chess and Canada is kicking his ass.

I have no doubts Canada is going to emerge from all of this as a force we've never been before.

World War III is already on. In a hundred years, when fascism has fallen, history books will call Trump a butcher, and Congress, complicit traitors.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Hate to break it to ya, but it hasn't even been 100 years since the previous world war, and look at where we are now. Bet the history books did Nazi that coming.

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Hate to break it to ya, but they didzi it coming.

[–] BillyTheKid2@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah like every humanities and history prof I had said "and we're seeing the same things in the USA right now" like yeah, they zi it. Not enough people listened.

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

yeah, they zi it. Not enough people listened.

Just like climate change / global warming.

Subject matter experts have been warning about it for many decades, and have been ignored by policy makers for just as long.

[–] fonix232@fedia.io 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Historians have been warning about the new rise of fascism since the 90s. It was very much seen coming.

Hitler didn't happen in a day either.

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

Historians yah sure kind of out of their realm.

[–] Smaile@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

It's because they weren't persecuted like they should have been

[–] OldCrow@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

Trump will be called a pedophile, a loser, a narcissist. And those backing him are complicit. RELEASE THE UNREDACTED EPSTEIN FILES!

[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

You have a lot of faith for a citizenry that stares at flashing lights all day. Democracy does when too few are around to defend it.

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago

Wait, I know this. Next, he's going to perform a special military operation close to the border, right?

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Anything that goes against Trump is pretty much a "hostile act".

He and his ICEstapo goons can't arrest us all.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Meanwhile, everything Trump and his cronies do are actual hostile acts.

[–] alsimoneau@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 weeks ago

Every accusation is a confession

[–] funkreddit@lemmy.zip 16 points 2 weeks ago

Lmao he’s such a lil bitch!!

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

Let me guess... Time to de-nazify Canada?

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

So here's a piece of old tribal wisdom:

When you hit someone, don't be surprised if they hit back.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

Canada isn't hitting back. We dodged the punch and left the bar mumbling "This place used to be fine but it's turned into a shithole filled with idiots".

Now we're at the nice bar down the street, having drinks with Ursula, and not giving it a second thought.

As an aside, does anyone else find Ursula kind of hot?

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ah, more of a judo move in your definition then.

[–] Auli@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

Yah right America could so sceew UA over on so manybways still it isn't even funny. If they sactuned Canada we would be screwed

[–] imvii@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

Right now Canada is being seen globally with very favoured eyes. That would be a huge mistake for Trump.

He'll probably do it.

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

We would just stop shipping them wood, oil, potash and electricity and USA would un-sanction us.

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Adapted to modern times: FAFO

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 11 points 2 weeks ago

Non-hostile acts:

-Threatening to annex an ally -Imposing tariffs on a country you had a trade agreement with -Renaming bodies of water to spite an allied country

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 10 points 2 weeks ago

Shut the fuck up, Donnie!

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

Good thing Canada doesn't have to consult you, Donnie.

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Well, if you're not with Trump you're against Trump. And there just aren't that many people with him.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

Well, his FBI has a bunch of chicken fuckers now, so he's got that going for him.

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Governments, companies and NGOs in the EU need to wake the fuck up.

[–] DeadEndLink@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 weeks ago

What a psycho.

[–] Nouvellalia@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You should attack Canada you fat old diaper. They're all laughing at you!

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 weeks ago

Too busy losing the war across the ocean and using up all their missles. Nothing new.

[–] qarbone@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Wait a minute, this American Jingoist Dictator doll (with extendo Sexual Assault action) is just a re-shell of the old Russian Jingoist Dictator doll! They reused the same quotes and changed one word!

[–] OldCrow@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

https://calgary.citynews.ca/2026/09/15/two-truck-inspections-lead-to-massive-cocaine-bust-at-alberta-u-s-border/ Wasn't this one of the reasons Cheetoh started his attack on Canada? Drugs coming into USA from Canada?

[–] radish6367@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 weeks ago

It’s hostile, but also laughable. I’m tired of this toxic clown show.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 weeks ago

It is a nice offer by EU, including having Carney address their parliament. It is a nice exploration of closer ties between Canada and EU, but there would need to be many changes to "associate member" contract/status for it to be good for Canadians. ie. more of the benefits, less of the obligations.
