I use the default Google clock, so let's hope they don't follow suit.
Check out Sleep. I needed it because I have a horrible tendency to turn off my alarms without waking up. Even when they're across the room. This one can have a password or some simple math problems for you to solve so you can't turn it off until you're at least awake enough to 6x7+3
It also has a setting for low intensity alarms that can increase over time on a gradient that you set. This made waking up way less traumatic than the blaring sirens it used to require when I was a teen or worked cancerous shifts that started and 1 am and the like. Eventually over time I reduced the alarm down to just a vibrate with no sound, and I often wake up as soon as it starts at its quietest.
Your sleep habits are a thing you can cultivate and it's amazing what they do for your mental health
I've been using this one just called "Clock"
https://github.com/BlackyHawky/Clock
My favorite feature I haven't seen elsewhere is you can set an alarm as a one-off, so when you dismiss it, the alarm will also be deleted. I like it because if I have an alarm at a random time that I won't need again it'll automatically delete itself so all my important alarms (like to wake up) don't get cluttered.
Other than that, it's just an regular clock app for me that looks better than the default and actually let's you swipe between the tabs instead having to tap them (that was my pet peeve)
Neat, i came here for an alarm clocks but left with a timer. I use the Google clock app because i am still to find something better, but my timers are an infinite lists of random timers because i tend to set a custom one each time i want to use this. Looks like this will fix a very small problem. But also, fuck Google.
I also use this one. It's available on F-Droid here: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.best.deskclock
I also use this from f-droid. Works great. I can pin it to my quick settings shade for easy access. (That pull down at the top of the screen that has your WiFi toggle and airplane mode and stuff)
I’ve been using this for the last 40+ years:

That's so rough
Ah, a fellow masochist I see.
Been happy with sleep as android has kept me from snoozing too much or turning off the alarm in my sleep. Has a ton of options math, QR code scanning, nfc ect.
I once had your same issue. I mentioned it to a coworker. The next day, he came to work and gave me an alarm clock. No radio, just time, alarm time and HORRIBLE BUZZNNRRTNRRRTNETTTRRRT
Set it up across the room, never switched back to an app again. Give it a try! Hit a local thrift shop or something and tell me in 3 months that it didn't change your life
A single alarm via an app works just fine to wake me up, that isn't my issue.
Multiple alarms in a day is because I use alarms as reminders as well. 'Remember to do x on y date at z time'. I can get quite fixated on tasks and forget to take breaks on time.
All I need is a replacement app where I can set alarms on a recurring schedule and/or at a specific date. The standard clock/alarm app that's been on my various phones has been great until the current version decided to make this change, dismissing multiple unrelated alarms all at once instead of just the one that's actually about to go off.
Now I'm looking for an equivalent alternative and seeing what peoples recommendations are for that.
This is likely way overkill for your needs, but I have Home Assistant control my phone's alarms, based on my various calendars that I sync using CalDav through DAVx5. HA will adjust the wake-up buffer based on what calendar the event is - so if yesterday I had an in-person appointment at 10am, and the buffer was 2.5h, but tomorrow's event is remote, I don't need to wake up as early, and so it adjusts the buffer because of it. This is set in the automation.

Then I created the necessary helper (input_number.alarm_wake_up_time_buffer) for how early to set the alarm at runtime. Integrate CalDav of course, syncing your calendars to HA, and adjust the automation script as needed. Make sure HA can run in the background/is not limited by battery optimization. And this all requires the HA companion app, obviously.
Boom, with all that in-place, I just set my events into my calendar, they sync, HA triggers a couple hours before I need to wake up, it sets the alarm, and I get woken up at the planned time.
I use the Google clock, so no promises for any other system, but I've been using this for 6+ months and it's been great. It does add a point of failure (server/HA freezes; internet outage when the automation triggers) but it hasn't happened yet, just hypotheticals.
I did not know homeassistant could et alarms, that's so cool!
I had trouble finding anything at all on f-droid that would just let you set alarms on a specific date before Chrono came along. I have been using it since. It's pretty decent.
I use an old Palm m515 with WeekUp
https://palmdb.net/app/weekup-alarmclock
I set different alarm times per day of the week, and they cycle identically. I can also set a different alarm for days this week and it doesn’t affect following weeks (unless I want it to)
I appreciate that this isn’t “new” by any stretch of the word, but it’s straightforward and works well for me. If you wanted to try something similar you could probably find an old Palm m500/505/515 or Handspring Visor on eBay quite cheaply. Battery powered devices will always work, but if you’re handy with electronics replacing a worn out rechargeable battery also isn’t that difficult.
If you make sure whatever you have has a USB cradle or cable you can use something like PilotBridge to install applications on it without relying on the old sync software: https://pilotbridge.tavisco.dev/
Simple Alarm Clock (FOSS) has been working fine for me
