Luan was a 17-year-old trans boy. When authorities recovered his body, injuries to his neck and face, blood, burns and preliminary forensic observations pointed to severe violence before his death.

Firefighters had extinguished flames in the field before Luan was discovered face down and partially undressed. Police documented possible drag marks and tire marks nearby and collected a sandal, necklace and phone-charger cable from the area. Those physical traces became part of the homicide investigation, but the available record did not determine whether Luan died at that location or was brought there afterward.

In the days that followed, Civil Police sought surveillance footage and information about vehicles that may have traveled near the area. Rain had affected portions of the scene, adding another obstacle to efforts to preserve and examine potential evidence. No suspect had emerged in the latest verified reporting.

This is devastating. It's scary to think how this all happened.

Rest peacefully x

[–] limonfiesta@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

There's no peaceful rest, just the eternal silence of death.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Was that really necessary?

[–] limonfiesta@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (3 children)

Yes, as it's the truth. Don't entertain fantasy to deny reality.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 3 weeks ago

“Rest peacefully” is a nice sentiment, it is not espousing or promoting fantasy to deny reality. Read the room.

[–] GeeDubHayduke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 weeks ago

Yes, as it’s the truth.

Hot damn, you're the first person that actually knows the truth about what happens after death?! Wow. So, how many times have you died?

yeah you’re an authority huh?

[–] limonfiesta@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (3 children)

Stop diluting righteous anger with pleasantries.

They're not resting peacefully, they're just dead.

Either be fully and justifiably angry at the reality of what has happened, or don't.

[–] someone@lemmy.today 6 points 3 weeks ago

I appreciate your honesty and integrity.

The people who did this don't deserve to be amongst us.

[–] Cheebus@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

i’m not diluting shit i’m just as pissed as you are

but i’m also not some edge lord tryna be edgy for fake internet points

you angry? do something about it, get the fuck off the internet, get to the streets and start fixing the problem

otherwise take your pesemistic attitude and fuck right off.

and no one knows what death is like until they’re dead, you and the pope are equal in authority on the subject, no one really knows

[–] limonfiesta@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Speaking truth is not being edgy.

Says a lot that you think it is.

It disgusts me that there are people that can do this to someone and go about their lives normally afterward

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 33 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Man, you really don't wanna know the statistics on how many murders actually get solved...

They walk among us.

[–] RaoulDuke25@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 3 weeks ago

Most of them wear suits and kill thousands.

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It's the banality of evil.

[–] tormeh@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 3 weeks ago

I don't think that's what that means.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Never forget what they are inside

[–] BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Never forget they often claim to be Christian.

[–] womboflll@sh.itjust.works 9 points 3 weeks ago (11 children)

All those flock cameras and ALPRs weren't about protecting the children if you can't find cars dragging a child out on the streets then right

All of these religious people who say horrible shit about trans people and make their lives hell embolden and enable this sort of violence, then try to wash their hands of it: "Oh, well, we just didn't want them to use certain bathrooms or read stories, we love Jesus and didn't want this." Fucking hypocritical assholes. All of Christianity is a cesspool of uncompassionate illogical dross.

[–] homosapien@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

This was an atrocity. The US needs to change.

[–] SnoopSqueak@lemmy.today 3 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

You're the problem, shit bag.

Your transphobic god does not exist.

Seriously. The world really could use some hippie love right about now. Live and let live.

[–] BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago (7 children)

Know what, fuck that. The people who do this don't have an ounce of love for their fellow man. They deserve what they dish out.

[–] friend_of_satan@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

I think you misunderstood me. I'm not saying the perps need sympathy, I'm saying that all these people who think they can dictate how other people should live their lives need to chill the fuck out, get high, relax, and just let people be people.

Are allies gonna start speaking up for trans masculine people and trans men because if not then I don't care anymore. People forget that trans masculine people and men grow up dealing with misogyny and violence too and it never goes away for most but you only ever hear about trans women needing protection and I'm sick of it.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 23 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Every trans person needs protection from these psychopaths

No shit. Some trans people don't even get counted in the statistics because they get labeled as a femicide when it's a trans masculine person. We never hear as much support for trans masculine people as we do for trans women. Way to water down what I just said.

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

Come on. I'm a trans woman. But this reply is just "all lives matter."
