Insert more coin into the slopmachine

Please bro, just a little bit more compute, then it will be perfect. Trust us bro.

That’s a real scene from the show? This idiot gets his comeuppance?

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 52 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (2 children)

They discover his power is based on how much fecal matter is in his rectum so they douche him and he's briefly powerless.

Having seen a season or two of this, but not anything recent … I can’t tell if you’re fucking with me.

Sort of,

Tap for spoilerThey set Homelander up as too powerful to be beaten conventionally, even by a team of supes. So, through a some special circumstances, they give someone the ability to remove even Homelander's powers. All while he goes full "mask off" leaning into the supposed god he claims himself to be. It culminates in a showdown where he is stripped of powers and begs for his life before getting beat to a pulp.

You forgot:

(NSFW)He begged for his life by offering to suck dick on live TV.

I honestly can't tell if this is a joke or the actual plot.

Yes, although the finale of the show is laughably bad IMO, which is what this scene is from. Which is a really big letdown because the entire show leading up to it is great.

Thats me these days, I'm now spending most of my day understanding the code AI wrote, because being new to both the company and the tech stack, I dont even have enough context to know what needs to be done and sometimes even how it needs to be done I can't match the speed at which AI works, and the company won't let me spend enough time to work at it on my own, so pushing AI generated PR's is what my career has been reduced to before I could even establish myself as a experienced engineer. How am I supposed to grow in this field if I don't directly work with the code anymore, and what gates the promotion process when even new grads have access to the same AI models, is there even going to be a career in a few years or will the AI bubble burst and we go back to the way things were or at least back to a reasonable level of AI usages

Indeed such is the big downside of AI, that and the slow death of education/learning. I too wish I could still write code myself. Well, except java anyway, I’m glad AI can write java.

"Please, I'll suck your dick for another token"

[–] riskable@programming.dev 8 points 3 weeks ago

Actually, there's a whole lot more swearing and pounding of the desk. Fists shaking in the air and screaming, "Anthropic!"

[–] Creddit@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Just switch to Zed and run a decent local model. If your vibe coding routine includes a loop through a roadmap doc or PRD then you can fill a few days working local models until Claude is back to fix their mistakes.

Don't help the posers pretend they understand what they're doing.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Or you could just learn to fucking code like people have been doing for nearly a century.

[–] wrinkle2409@lemmy.cafe 4 points 3 weeks ago

People have also been using calculators and importing libraries for nearly a century, that doesn't mean they can't do computation by paper or write their own libraries. That's purist thinking and it is stupid.
