Yeah this one is extremely bizarre and not at all what I'd expect. Was the post mass reported? Did they have some excuse because it was a strip joint? Because it was in Canada?
the only thing i can think of that makes any amount of sense, is that comments on the image veered off into 'prohibited content'. zuck's knee jerked and hit the ban button. this account probably wasn't the only one affected then, either.
There's another possibility, seeing as the Trump family does come to BC periodically, typically for hunting trips etc.... and the Trumps are definitely the sort to check out strip clubs / skin bars. There's a small chance that Eric or some other Trump was actually following that strip clubs posts, as its a better known one in Vancouver (largely for these sorts of posts) -- but once the content was about him/his, he called zuck.

It happens slowly at first and then all at once. I know it’s hard to believe, but things do change. It just takes some time for the smell of America shitting itself harder than its Dear Leader to propagate and turn everyone’s stomach. But give it time, we’ve never shit ourselves this hard before, I think this might be the death shit.

Boycotting worked a whole lot better when markets weren’t global. It’s also just not going to affect the rich in any material way. Their servants will bear the burden of lower sales and be forced to push harder in other markets.
I disagree, let's say Netflix looses 50% Canadian Market or McDonals looses half the customers as a direct result of boycotting. They won't want to affect policy change, it won't affect their bottom lines? What If people from other countries follow the example? That would also spur now investment into domestic market to spur new companies to replace those services . Loblaws and the likes started shutting their pants when Loblaws out of control Sub made news.

A boycott of 50% is as unlikely as 100%. People eating regularly at McDonald’s aren’t in a position to just stop eating at McDonald’s all the time. Boycotts sound nice. I get it. They just don’t work.

But if you’ve somehow managed to get enough people to put in the same effort and make the same sacrifices together, then maybe you should do more with that insane achievement than just not buy things together. Like, if everyone made an effort and just fucking VOTED on the one day every four years (or two) when it mattered most, you’d also solve a lot of problems. That’s proven impossible for literally decades. But we’re gonna stick it to ‘em by just making our own lives even shittier, en masse, on the off chance some billionaire might be given a memo about a sales dip?
