I have installed Lineage on the same phone in the past. I seem to remember a step I needed to do through Motorola to properly unlock the device. I found this link on the install page—have you attempted this yet?

I can't do this step until I get an output from get_unlock_data
I think it's just not possible for whatever reason.
I use this phone w Lineageos as my daily, following the instructions provided worked for me.

I use Linux, I'm unsure if these drivers are available. I wasn't able to find them.
I see! When you boot into Fastboot mode, what's the output of
$ fastboot devices
no one was able to help in the lineage forums?
Went on the discord but no help there unfortunately.
