This is a cool demonstration, especially with the parameters and animations, but man I hate these "made with <3" footers so much. They were everywhere in the 2010s and my hope was that they had died out by now, but apparently not.

Super cool. However I think they are missing a crusial optimizarion strategy. In morning rushhour. More elevators should be dedicated to only going up and never pick anyone up on the way down. And fill up a single dedicated cart for downwards traffic as much as possible to maximise utilisation.
Its funny because I'm pretty sure you mean office building elevators, but i was thinking of apartments and how shit this would be.

Very dangerous to your free time
I stayed at a place once for over a week, they had two elevators, but one of them had a sign on it saying it was out of service the entire time I was staying there. I did wonder at the time if it reverted to a "single elevator" algorithm, or if instead it just ran a kind of degraded "two elevators but one isn't keeping up its end of the bargain" algorithm 😛
I worked at a place once that had three elevators that each went to a different set of the floors in the building. One went Basement-6, one went 1-6, and one went 1-5. And when you hit the up/down buttons from outside there was no way to specify if you needed one of the floors that wasn't necessarily covered by all of them.
Well, this just makes me want to play Project Highrise again (the spiritual successor to SimTower and Yoot Tower). And sad that they stopped creating new content for it.
Wow. I always assumed DD systems were significantly superior.
