The Far Side
Hello fellow Far Side fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips and one of those was The Far Side. These days of course you find just about anything online including www.thefarside.com where they post several comics a day and I repost them here. Just to note, the date you see in my posts is not the initial release date, but the date they were posted on the website.
The Far Side is a single-panel comic created by Gary Larson and syndicated by Chronicle Features and then Universal Press Syndicate, which ran from December 31, 1979, to January 1, 1995 (when Larson retired as a cartoonist). Its surrealistic humor is often based on uncomfortable social situations, improbable events, an anthropomorphic view of the world, logical fallacies, impending bizarre disasters, (often twisted) references to proverbs, or the search for meaning in life… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Far_Side

once told someone how crazy that Abraham got in the car industry after being president.
Had to do a double take then they believed me.
You'd think it'd be a Lincoln Town Car but it's built by Ford.
It can cross rivers.
See, that's funny because Ford does actually make Lincoln
Do people still generally know that Abe Lincoln grew up in a log cabin? Is that still taught in grade school?
Just listened to a podcast where a 6th grade English teacher explained she has to teach half the class how to form complete sentences. In fucking 6th grade!!
Corvid was 5 years ago. Some current 6th graders didn't really start school until the 3rd grade, and unless their parents were actively and constantly teaching them, they ain't know shit
Yes. Although, most people are mistakenly of the impression he was born in Illinois. This is not the case. Lincoln practiced law in Illinois, was in the Illinois house of reps, was the US rep for Illinois, and lived in Illinois most of his life, but the log cabin he was born in was actually just outside of Louisville, Kentucky.
Lincoln was not governor of Illinois
Yeah, this was my first thought, as I played with them as a kid. But, then I remembered why they were called Lincoln Logs.
