Please remember that it doesn't matter if Mitch is dead or not, he is demonstrably unable to serve and, according to the law, should be replaced.

[–] TootSweet@lemmy.world 54 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When has the law ever mattered to MAGAts?

[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago

When democrats were in power, but not because they chose for it to matter. It only matters when they're being forced to obey it.

Edit: I was wrong about the timeline here; the video was made BEFORE he was hospitalized, I just happened to see it a while AFTER and made a false connection in my head. Sorry about that

~~They still have him out there casting votes, regardless of his ability. Less than a week ago I saw a video where he voted 'incorrectly' and watched as all the aides scrambled to tell him to shut the fuck up and demand that "that one doesn't count" to the room. I've literally seen 4 years olds playing hide and seek with a better sense of awareness, fairness, and object permanence than our incompetent overlords~~

I think you're talking about 10 days before, or are there different ones?

Senator Mitch McConnell was showing signs of utter confusion 10 days before he was hospitalized ... voting incorrectly and even getting the Senate Clerk to signal yea or nay.

Charlie turned up some pretty shocking videos from June 4th, when the Senate had a marathon session called vote-a-rama, where Senators voted 29 times during an 18-hour session.

Yeah, you're right. I just happened to see the video a while AFTER he was hospitalized and made a connection that wasn't there

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That is flat out wrong though. There are no videos of him from after his "hospitalisation" (death).

You are confusing it with videos of him prior to that.

Oh! I didn't know they brought him out. Weekend at Bernie's style, or is he actually blinking and shit?

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 5 points 1 week ago

Because it isn't true. There are no such videos of him from after his "hospitalisation".

Nor the front of The Kennedy Center.

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (12 children)

AI slop? Really? Could just write that as a text post with a title.

[–] OberonSwanson@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago

We’re fighting amongst ourselves over it being AI? This wasn’t even about AI, it’s counter productive and exactly what gets us where we are, they have us chasing our own tails instead of Epstein and McConnell.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago (3 children)

It's got the underline brush strokes of those generic AI flyers that ChatGPT craps out.

The font texture is also inconsistent but to be devils advocate it could be a Photoshop filter. Tbh though the underline brush strokes give it away as AI.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The way "please" isn't correctly centered might be a giveaway. Or someone is just really bad at typography

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

You're right, and "Remember" is a little off center too.

Someone with enough skill to make text with a seamless textured mask would definitely know to center the whole thing. Good catch.

[–] TheSlad@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Are humans incapable of underlining words for emphasis? Where else would AI learn to do that?

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why would this particular person, who presumably opened Gimp or Procreate or Photoshop, choose to use differing texture masks on the words, and a different texture on the brush strokes, and then after all this was done, completely fail to take thirty seconds to center the text?

Because there never was a person making these choices.

Having seen people use Photoshop, especially when new to it or presented with new features....

They do that all the time.

I'm not saying this isn't generated, it could be. I'm just saying I've seen people do exactly that sort of stuff while not having any idea that they can do multiline text, multiple colors in the same line, use a rule for alignment, change the text from left aligned to center (instead they hit the space bar until its "close enough"), etc

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You generally learn how text alignment works before you learn how font masking works. This is true for multiple text handling programs, from Photoshop to word processors.

[–] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

You are welcome to believe that.

My eyes have seen all manner of ridiculous use of Photoshop (among others).

I have seen people write an entire damn document inside a single cell in Excel.

I have seen people make charts in Excel, while watching them also use a calculator and enter the values manually.

I have seen people use Word to create a photo album, just dragging them in full size, then try and "center" the text underneath by pressing space.

I have seen people use google docs while boarding a plane, only to get mad that it doesn't work without internet once the flight took off (pre in-flight wifi era).

I have seen people use drafts in Outlook to store their passwords.

This has only gotten worse as people watch tutorials on advanced features while having no idea how the basic tools work.

You can believe whatever you'd like, I'm just saying people do absolutely boneheaded and preposterous things all the time.

Decades ago, one of my first jobs was helping people learn to use a Macintosh computer, the first ones. I told a guy to use the mouse to click "New", and he put the mouse up against the screen. I'd never seen anyone do that before, but the thing is, that makes sense if you've never used a mouse.

Just thought I'd share that.

What does "underline brush strokes" mean? Because none of the text is underlined.

Edit: Oh, OP changed it. I get it now

It really fucking angers me yhsy nobody is talking about yhr Epstein files anymore

Politicians should bring it up at every trade negotiation with that turd ball. You want 50% taxes? Fine, we'll do that if you release all the Epstein files

[–] vala@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

The other world leaders are in there too. No one in power really benefits from the release.

And what they've released in those files is already fucking disgusting and outrageous.

Honestly I'm a bit surprised the Republicans didn't just wait until the literal day after the deadline to say "oops, he's actually dead. Haha fuck you we won."

[–] Alexfire@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Too many wealthy people, and forces that want to use the blackmail, who really pull the strings won't let it out.
