Meta is not the only smart glasses maker, but its AI glasses are by far the most popular.

The tech giant invested heavily in promoting them, collaborating with celebrity influencer Kylie Jenner on a pair of Ray-Bans featuring an AI assistant that speaks in her voice. The campaign featured billboard ads and a video spot showing Kylie simply enjoying wearing the glasses, without necessarily highlighting their practical features.

Consumers are so freaking gullible, in aggregate…

It amazes me.

I honestly do not see the appeal of this kind of advertising; it makes me actively not want to buy the thing for a plethora of reasons. Why should I care what X celebrity does? How much of that ad is in the product’s cost? Why should I buy without researching thoroughly? Why would I believe the ad, given how many ads lie or fudge? And that’s setting aside everything I know about Meta.

I’m starting to think it’s a neurodivergence or antisocial thing. As apparently I’m a tiny minority, and this sort of marketing works like magic, on millions of people.

I keep wondering who is the idiot that would by junk like this...

There is an old saying "Never hit someone wearing glasses".

But these days, "If someone is wearing Meta glasses, punch them directly between the eyes"

Odd choice of words for “zero demand”

9 million people (7 million sold just in 2025) are spying and recording others...

And they expect even more next year... Meta is going for 20 million production for 2026... Maybe 30 million if trends keep..

If we all start going around in the nude, they wouldn't be able to monetize their videos. 😌

Get yourself a very powerful pocket laser, and if somebody is wearing one of these, shine it directly into their eyeballs.

Tell police and ICE these glasses will automatically identify them and report their position, then stand back?

I suppose we should never underestimate young males' propensity to perv on women and girls. Nor should we underestimate the tech bros' willingness to provide the hardware to do it.

Remember, billionaires have zero empathy, especially for we poors, and really not even for their own kids. They'll stop for two reasons only, if the pervert glasses stop selling, and/or they're forced to by laws with real teeth. Small "cost of doing business" fines won't do it, we all know.
