What a clueless, lying idiot

Quote: "I'm certain, by the way, that sooner or later Ukraine will lose these western lands. And what used to belong to Poland, Hungary, Romania will sooner or later – maybe not tomorrow, not the day after, in a year or two, 10 years, or 15 – but everything will historically fall back into place."

Details: Putin did not explain why Ukraine should lose its western territories.

He's had his trolls stirring up shit in Poland. Trying to reopen old wounds about beef with Ukraine. That's what this is about. It's been working pretty well from what I read about angry Poles.

Russia is now harvesting what they’ve sown, and riding on the wave of propaganda, disinformation that they’ve made part of public discourse in Poland, such as about the Wołyn massacre and the land grabs that the Soviet Union made and integrated into the western parts of Ukraine after WWII.

I have relatives in Poland who could never forgive having their families ousted from fertile farmland that had been in their family for generations. They recently went from blaming the Soviet Union to blaming Ukraine and Ukrainians in particular.

So Russia is now fanning the fire.

When Orban was in office I assumed that he positioned himself in a way that would allow him to "protect" Hungarian minority in Ukraine by probably a similar manuever that Russians did in 2014. I don't think similar scenario for Poland was ever realistic.

But that part was never said out loud, just speculation on my part. I hope that preconditions that would test my speculation never arrive.

Oh look, there's the shift to Poland and Romania warned about when everyone failed to get their shit together and stop initial Ukraine incursions.

He's not strictly wrong. They're caught between Kushner/Witkoff debt leveraged annexation and Putin's military occupation. Absolute dogshit position to find yourselves. But it isn't exactly a compelling argument for surrender.

Of course, "Putin said it, so it must not be true" is the stock response from the NAFO crowd. But then these were the same folks who said Ukrainians would march triumphantly through Moscow by the time the war was over.

No clue why you're not on the ml tankie sub but... Moscow is burning right now. Ukraine is absolutely fucking russia body for body. Russia is done and is a corpse, it just doesn't know it yet. Thankfully Ukraine said they're not going to hold back any longer about attacking russian soil and has absolutely shown the world their capabilities. You tankies just don't want to see it.
