The author has never met anyone in active ketosis. You might not be able to tell, but those around you typically can. Your breath definitely smells different even to an untrained observer.

Only some people and usually only during their adaption window, after a few weeks they don't stand out.

In fact it's exactly this adaption effect that makes this breath devices not reliable for long term adapter people. I.e. our bodies don't love throwing energy away for free, the body doesn't want to make ketones just to breath them away... Efficiency goes up over time and you stop breathing them out, stop peeing them out, etc.

There's already cheap devices for this. I'm trying to figure out what this article's purpose is. This is not a new thing.
