It's pretty cool right now up here. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ͺ

In Denmark as well. The entire European heatwave of this summer seems to have stopped right at the border to Germany curiously enough.

[–] maltasoron@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah, in NL it won't get above 30 either

[–] Rugnjr@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 days ago

Maybe I'm weaksauce but when it hit 30 here in Aalborg (Denmark) that felt pretty awful. It's cooled down a little since then tho, and we bought a fan which helps

[–] CyberEgg@discuss.tchncs.de 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

And more crucially, it seems to not getting tge same heat Germany probably is going to have.

Once we get rid of that pesky AMOC, it should cool back down quickly. Or at least make things different.

[–] Im_old@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

if you want to speed it up, you can set AI agents to automatically search the web for news related to that and alert you. So with all the heat for them to run you'll make your contribution to AMOC collapse. (and of course this is /s)

34'C/94'F for Berlin next Friday is pretty toasty.

Some models are showing 40Β°C+ for most to all of Germany on sunday, and even the models that tend to be a bit too low show mid 30s. I am living off hope those predictions are off and there's a chaotic factor not accounted for yet.

Meanwhile where I live (we only had 37Β°C):

Pool is ready, it's small but will serve a purpose and water pump is connected at last so i can water my plants more easily and i'm on vacation finally from next week 3 weeks (haven't had one since Christmas) so fucking BRING IT ON!!!

[–] VibeSurgeon@piefed.social 1 points 4 days ago

It does hit 30 up here as well, though, unless you go quite a bit north.

In the u.s. we just call that summer

[–] linsenchip@piefed.zip 6 points 4 days ago (2 children)

In the u.s. you also have AC

[–] maltasoron@sopuli.xyz 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

And that's why the rest of the world is so hot. AC is a significant contributor to climate change.

And I thank God for it. This place would be unlivable without it

This country should not exist β€” it is a monument to man's arrogance.
