Shatner and his daughter Melanie speak out in a new interview about their stage 4 cancer diagnoses, received a year apart, and how they're doing now.

Spoilers:

Both were diagnosed with stage 4 cancer
Both have already had surgery
Both have made a complete recovery
Both have been in remission for years

This occurred in 2022 & 2023. They are both still alive because of recent breakthroughs in cancer treatment. If it had happened just years ago, they would have only been given months to live. All traces of cancer have been removed from their bodies despite it being found far-spread and metastasized in both of them. Bill required immediate surgery upon discovery, his daughter went through a period of time where she thought she was going to die.

Stage 4 is no joke. My mother is battling it right now, Colon cancer. I look forward to the day where we discover a better treatment for cancer.
