In his first term trump himself signed the USMCA ensuring tariff free trade between the three countries. Yet this is yet another violation of his own promise to our ally nations and our closest neighbors. It should be no surprise to anyone that trumps promise is worth nothing. Were I in other countries positions, I'd write internal (and public) legislation saying that agreements with the USA under trump are all in bad faith and that the home country has no obligation to uphold its own side. Then I'd sign anything trump wants to get what I need for my nation, and ignore any obligations under the agreement to the USA. Its what the USA does under trump. Educated the trump administration on "Treat others as you want to be treated".
However, several key exports will be spared, such as energy, potash, critical minerals and fish.
Well it sounds like Canada knows where to apply the Canadian side tariffs then. 10,000% tariff on critical minerals sounds like a good start for Canada to recoup some of their tariff losses to trump's idiocy.
