🇯🇴Dozens of Jordanian national, political, cultural, and tribal figures issued a joint statement calling for the withdrawal of foreign forces from the country and emphasizing the necessity of upholding national sovereignty.
The signatories urged the Jordanian government to revoke the security and military agreement concluded with the United States and to submit it to Parliament for annulment or restriction.
@SimurghRes
The biggest mistake people make when looking at war is assuming the objective is to hit the enemy’s capital as quickly as possible. That’s political theater, not military strategy.
If you look at the strike map, Iran isn’t behaving like a country trying to maximize headlines but like a military attempting to shape the battlespace.
The targets are not random or insignificant. Iran is dismantling the entire American military ecosystem in the region:
Early warning radar sites. Air defense systems. Aviation facilities and hangars. Logistics hubs. Fuel and ammunition storage. Forward operating bases. CENTCOM support infrastructure. Bases supporting operations in Syria and Iraq. Naval and maritime surveillance assets. Intelligence collection and communications nodes.
Look at Jordan as an example. Most people couldn’t point to Tower 22 or Muwaffaq Salti Air Base on a map, yet they’re arguably more important militarily than firing a few missiles at downtown Tel Aviv.
Tower 22 supports operations at Al-Tanf. Muwaffaq Salti hosts American aircraft and coalition operations. Erbil supports intelligence and special operations. Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters. Kuwait is a massive logistics and staging area. Qatar hosts the forward headquarters of CENTCOM and the largest U.S. air base in the Middle East. These are the eyes, ears, and connective tissue of American power projection in the region.
From a military perspective, you don’t begin by punching the strongest part of your opponent. You isolate him.
There are several principles of warfare being applied here:
- Suppression of enemy support infrastructure.
- Degradation of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities.
- Attrition of air defense and interceptor inventories.
- Disruption of logistics and sustainment.
- Political pressure on host nations.
- Shaping the operational environment before attempting anything larger.
The United States does not fight Middle Eastern wars from Washington or even from aircraft carriers alone. It fights them from an interconnected network of bases stretching from Jordan to Qatar to Kuwait to Bahrain. If that network becomes degraded, every sortie, every intelligence feed, every resupply mission, and every interceptor launch becomes more difficult and more expensive.
People screaming “just bomb Tel Aviv” fundamentally misunderstand what modern warfare looks like. Destroying a radar site that enables coalition air operations can be militarily more valuable than causing superficial damage to a symbolic target.
There’s another aspect people are missing: INTERCEPTOR ECONOMICS.
Every Patriot interceptor fired costs millions of dollars. Air defense inventories are finite. Sustained operational tempo places enormous strain on maintenance crews, missile stockpiles, and logistics chains. If an adversary can force you to defend a dozen locations simultaneously, you’ve already begun winning the resource allocation battle.
Historically, successful military campaigns begin with degrading command-and-control, communications, air defenses, and logistics before moving to decisive operations.
Whether one agrees with Iran politically is irrelevant to the military analysis. What we’re witnessing is not random retaliation, it is a deliberate campaign aimed at systematically degrading the regional architecture that allows the United States and its allies to project military power across the Middle East.
Jordan is the key, the last & most important layer defending Israel.
The increasing rate of direct hits is a direct result of Radars & other U.S. equipment destroyed in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar ... added to the depletion of air defense interceptors, something that couldn't have been achieved in a few days.
During 20 years CENTCOM turned Arab countries into a dome protecting Israel, and Iran is now methodically dismantling it.

Personal Experience with Yemen
I've mentioned this memory of mine before as something that was instrumental to my development but this video caused me to reminisce on it.
During a visit to Iran while I was a child, my family took me to an amusement park. At one point when waiting in line for an attraction, we spotted a group of young men, younger than I am today if I were to guess, who were given permission to bypass the line.
They all wore beige military uniforms and all had an amputation of sorts, a missing arm, a missing leg, parts of the hand. They were also covered in bandages and multiple used crutches to walk.
My mother then explained to me that they were from the front lines of Yemen, and were being given a few privileges due to coming back from the war, which by this point would not have ended until years later.
The thing I remember about those young men more than anything else, is the fact they were all smiling. Not just polite small smiles for the sake of cordiality, but real bright and wide smiles. These men who were missing limbs and had to hobble everywhere they went as if they were scrap put together haphazardly smiled more genuinely and cheerfully than I think I've ever seen in my life. I couldn't understand a word they said but their demonor was enough to tell me how polite they were as well when conversing with the staff and passersby.
That was my first impression with people from Yemen and with the physical remnants of the Saudi genocide against them. It's stuck with me all these years later and I can never really forget it, nor would I want to.
The Saudi genocide of Yemen has become a mainstream conflict that most politically engaged people are at least somewhat aware of. I'm glad that more and more people are aware of the Yemeni plight and many people have expressed their condemnation to the Saudi regime. However, I'll admit that I feel a little frustrated at times, because so many people treat the experience of Yemenis as just another part of geopolitics and don't go deeper to understand the nature of the Yemeni people.
They are a brave and wonderful people, who deserve more than every bounty of the world. If there were a place that holds the heart of the world it would in Yemen.
I will never forget those young men and their smiles. Till the day I die, their image will remain on my head.
Of all the nations in that region, Yemen is the one I'm most excited to see liberated from imperialists. And Yemen is the reason why I see the Arab monarchs as a threat that must be destroyed after the zionists for any justice to exist in the region.

❗️Pentagon mysteriously lowers death toll of service members killed in war on Iran
Expand
The Pentagon mysteriously lowered its official tally of US service members killed in the war on Iran from 18 to 14 just a day after publication.
Three military officials revealed to the New York Times that the Trump administration quietly removed four casualties from the roster because their deaths occurred after an unstable April 'ceasefire,' while a Pentagon spokesperson dismissed the discrepancy as a temporary data glitch.
This sudden revision coincides with a broader pattern of information suppression regarding mounting US military deaths and facility damage across the region. Defense officials have increasingly withheld details surrounding Iranian retaliatory strikes on regional bases, including recent attacks in Jordan and Iraq that injured dozens of US troops.
Retired military commanders argue that the administration is deliberately sanitizing operational realities to shield itself from political fallout. This selective transparency stands in sharp contrast to the administration's aggressive politicization of military deaths incurred during previous administrations, highlighting a growing credibility crisis surrounding Washington's failing war narrative.

❗️Israel commits 467 violations against Palestinian media workers in six months, says PJS
Expand
Israel killed eight Palestinian journalists and committed 467 violations against media workers in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip in the first half of 2026, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) announced on 20 July.
The findings were presented by Mohammed al-Lahham, head of the syndicate's Freedoms Committee, at a news conference in Ramallah, who said the report documented "467 crimes and violations" committed by the Israeli army and occupiers against media workers between January and June.
More than 41 percent of the violations, 192 cases, involved blocking coverage or detaining press crews, which Lahham said reflected "a systematic policy aimed at obscuring the media landscape in the occupied Palestinian territories."
The report also recorded 27 arrests, 29 incidents of live fire targeting journalists, 78 cases involving tear gas or stun grenades, and two gunshot injuries.
Syndicate chief Nasser Abu Bakr said the organization was pursuing legal action against Israel before international bodies, and urged the International Criminal Court to accelerate its investigations into "crimes" committed against Palestinian journalists.
"The targeting of journalists is not a series of isolated incidents, but part of an aggression targeting the right to knowledge and the transmission of truth," he said.
❗️WFP says Gaza food security & child nutrition improve but remain fragile
Expand
The UN World Food Program (WFP) said on Thursday that food security and child nutrition conditions in the Gaza Strip have improved, but remain vulnerable due to limited humanitarian access, with only one aid crossing currently operating.
The Rome-based agency reported “an improvement in food security and child nutrition across the Gaza Strip,” but “cautioned that the progress, driven largely by expanded access to humanitarian food, nutrition, agricultural and health assistance, remains fragile.”
The WFP said that while humanitarian access has increased, only the Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem crossing in southern Gaza remains open, restricting the movement of essential supplies.
The agency noted a “significant” rise in food and nutrition assistance since the October 2025 ceasefire agreement. In May, food packages reached around 1.5 million people, while approximately 700,000 people received cash assistance and 60% of children under the age of five received nutritional support.
