This story is from 2023. It's not recent. But Hruz is still an active pediatric endocrinologist and teaches pediatrics.

“Some children are born into this world to suffer and die.”

The carnist's motto

I remember my mom made me read a book that had a similar line, but they were ever so slightly more chill. The person was responding to the similar argument, "better a living daughter than a dead son," and he essentially said that dysphoria is just a condition some people are born with and should have to struggle with until they die. It was really bizarre seeing someone acknowledge that dysphoria is a naturally occurring condition and that it should't be treated. Like, should I go without treating my schizophrenia? I almost died because of it, and we all know that we need to treat it. But my gender dysphoria is just my cross to bear?

This Hruz person deserves to suffer and die.

Only under capitalism does someone who hates kids get a job working with kids.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 18 points 1 day ago

Not just working with kids, but getting to suggest ways of having kids die as a cost cutting measure, and instead of being fired or imprisoned, they get acclaim and attention.

A doctor seeing a death they could easily prevent with medicine from the field they specialize in and just brushing it off as unpreventable suffering is so fucking gross

This is why I could never be a journalist. Sitting across from someone and hearing them say this, I don't know if I could keep from lunging at them and just beating them to a pulp
