Welcome

We're not The Onion! Not affiliated with them in any way! Not operated by them in any way! All the news here is real!

The Rules

Posts must be:

  1. Links to news stories from...
  2. ...credible sources, with...
  3. ...their original headlines, that...
  4. ...would make people who see the headline think, “That has got to be a story from The Onion, America’s Finest News Source.”

Please also avoid duplicates.

Comments and post content must abide by the server rules for Lemmy.world and generally abstain from trollish, bigoted, ableist, or otherwise disruptive behavior that makes this community less fun for everyone.

And that’s basically it!

MODERATORS

(As I've had posts removed from this community before for not being oniony and so am not sure what the standards are: I think this is oniony because I find it highly ironic that a company would ever make an effort to delete code examples that supplement their own work, and think it could reasonably be part of a satirical headline satirizing copyright enforcement. If mods disagree that this is oniony enough, that's fine with me too.)

Y'all good here. This one really does read like satire.

Pearson has never been a defender of author’s rights, just Publisher’s rights. As such, I don’t find this surprising.

Love Pearson.

Love not being able to take the Linux+ test on a Linux machine. >.>
