The update on this article is from 2024, and the pig's trial was in Nov 2025, where he was found not guilty on all charges.

Who posts something from 2024 as it it was today? Is it a bot to farm engagement? And AI training data?
This user is pretty new and seems to just post headlines like this everywhere
This isn't a news comm so it doesn't really matter. OP probably learned about it recently and was like wow folks should know
ngl i genuinely did not believe this headline because pigs never face justice
it sucks to be right
it took nationwide riots to get a cop convicted
Nooooooooooooooo
When the car began to move in the direction of one officer, who was standing in front of the vehicle, he fired a single shot into her windshield, killing her, the video shows.
Every police or military instruction manual, training, and just common sense will tell you not to stand directly in front of a vehicle of someone you're going to antagonize. Premeditated murder, every time a cop kills someone like this it's intentional. And he was found not guilty.
Death to the pigs
Wait this is a different case to the 1 year old who got shot the other week?
yes this is from 2024. I'm fine with posting things that are older but I think it would be nice to put [2024] in the headline or something
i thought another shooting had happened recently due to the lack of context and the impossibility of remembering all the times pigs murder someone
willing to bet that cops killed someone yesterday and it didn't even make the news
They kill at least a few people every day, not necessarily straight up murder like this, but they almost certainly did. Wikipedia with data from the Washington Post tracking of police killings says they kill around 1000-1200 people per year in the US, but they aren't required to report it to any kind of centralized database so the true number is luckily much higher. Coronors aren't required to list if police were involved in the death and often help cover up police crimes.
Interestingly in 2024 it was 1406, up from 1092 in 2023 and down to 1289 in 2025. In 2010 it was only 387, climbing to 1060 in 2013 and has stayed around there since. I wonder if this massive increase is related to the increased availability of cell footage. Between 2005 and 2019, 18 were convicted of manslaughter and four were convicted of murder.

the true number is luckily much higher
hoping this was meant to be likely? think autocorrect may have gotten you here
Oh dear lord
LAST YEAR just to be INDICTED
If my partner ever gets killed by police holy shit you better believe I'm not waiting around for "justice," i'll make the fucking punisher look well adjusted
Edit: so it happened in 2023 and he was indicted 2024
