Old MAD Magazine cartoon.

First we see the guy repairing a wooden ship in the middle of a raging hurricane.

Next he's racing an F1 car through Monte Carlo.

Finally he's a firefighter standing against a raging inferno

Then we see he's just a kid. Ma says to Pa, "He's such a good boy. He put up the bird feeder, mowed the lawn and watered the garden without taking a break. He's sure got his mind on his job!"

My old shrink insists you take a walk, first thing in the AM, and it has to be a loop that goes around your home. The logic being, our primal brains register this as "checking the perimeter" and it eases our anxiety especially relating to PTSD and threat detection. IDK if it's true or not, but I will say a walk in the morning makes me have a better, more energetic day.

Remember to bring a weapon with you when checking the perimeter!

Anyway, this strangely sounds related to self motivation, where you frame the obnoxious thing as something more useful. Like once I managed to get my kids to eat porridge by saying the bear from a cartoon eats it.

My folks got me to eat broccoli by telling me there were little trees. I still love broccoli 40 years later.

Did they get a second season?

I really loved it, but they striped the anti-capitalist message and it is a bit strained.

Not to say that they couldn't pull it off. I'm amazed at what they did t with the source.

But, just dad-gum the books were pretty great.

Maybe the funniest scene though.

Haven't read the book, but if it has more of an anti capitalist message than the show, it must beat you over the head with it then. The show clearly was anti capitalist to me.

It's not brow beating because it is the plot basically. Sort of hard to describe and I might be wrong. There's a series of Murderbot Diaries book series that add up to a book or so. I highly recommend. Very quick reads and a lot of fun.

It's really a wonderful adaptation. The books are just good though lol.
