This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

I couldn’t do that until my third playthrough because i gutted that fucker on my first and needed him to get to Mogh on my second playthrough because that “shortcut” up north is anything but.
The teleporter in the Consecrated Snowfield is the intended main way and Varre's quest is the short-cut. They actually only patched it in later that you can do his quest offline. You needed to invade people online; these days you can cave Magnus' skull in or more likely he caves your skull in 3 times.
I kinda want to do an Ansbach cosplay run just to kill Varre now
Ansbach's Set looks so cool.
I also never seriously used the Obsidian Lamina. You get it after Consort Radahn and beating him is usually one of the last things I do.
If I were to do this cosplay run, I wouldn't immediately cave Varre's skull in, but instead do the invasion in Mohgwyn Palace. More thematic that way.
