Wait, but you can't run GrapheneOS on any Sony devices? Huh??
Well ig its time to stop buying anything made by Sony.
That time was after the first rootkit.
SecuROM?
Wait what
Oh you sweet summer child. There are many, many more over the years.
Sony is satans droppings
sad, they're one of the few brands left that still have the audio port
Minijack? P sure Xiaomi has it in most of their models as well, but tbh dont know the state of that Company, if theyve got sketchy connections, good chance they do probably
The others are I think: Motorola (mobility) which is owned by Lenovo
csrrying 2 phones is the way to go imho. One for these stupid apps and the other for your personal data. So its like the work / personal phone setup but instead we have private / non -private phone.
I don't like being fucked in the butt so I carry two dildos: one for fucking me in the butt and one without batteries.
Dunno why I never considered that. A VPN over wifi on one, for banking and whatever... and then my phone. Hell, I used to carry an MP3 player, flip phone, and a camera if the time called for it. Making me feel like I lost my way lol, appreciate the succinct tip
Edit: smacking my head cause I literally have to carry two phones at work, as is. Why tf have I never considered this as an option for myself, even when I knew it was optional? Damn man, gonna grab me a phone for personal use and put this one to (for) work. Thanks again my friend
Lately I've been thinking that this, unfortunately, is the way.
This is likely the route I'll take in the near future.
For an in-depth technical breakdown and why GrapheneOS cannot bypass Google Play Integrity check even with it's Play Services Sandbox mode, check here: https://thecybersecguru.com/news/yoti-grapheneos-sony-playstation-age-verification/
I can't say why, but that article has a very AI-generated text feeling.
Oh, looks like they don't like people owning the stuff Sony makes. I know a way to solve that issue.
Revoke Sony's corporate charter? Ban Sony products from being imported? Criminally charge the CEO and board?
Well all that would be great, but we all know none of that will happen. We can (and should) just stop buying Sony items however as they are not doing so great on that front already. This is the issue when brands do stupid shit, no one seems to want to just stop buying.
Ngl we basically can't buy anything anymore
I'ma have to re-remember a facet of my life where "I'll make do" was a thing. I mean, it still very much so is... but fuck, I could be "making do" even more if I tried just a little. I don't wanna, because comfortability and all that, but I've done more with less in my past. I'm tired, but I guess it is what it is for the time being. Really wish I didn't have to because of greedy evil, but fuck 'em... good luck in your bunker, I'll smile at the sun instead
After going through the linked threads. Discussing graphene OS or any other ROM on r/privacy will get you banned. WTF‽
Wow, thanks Sony. Still being cunts about copyright I see; nothing has changed since the SecuROM/XCP days...
All these scumbag companies are making it easier and easier for me to avoid their products.
But they are making it harder to have products too.
You just have to get creative and shop around. I've had a full journey since the beginning of Android starting with HTC. Used Sony, Samsung, Razer... all went to shit one way or another.
Nowadays very happy with Redmi and Oneplus. I got a Redmi watch and it's battery lasts nearly a month!
I loved Redmi last time I bought one, but now they've basically made it impossible to root or mod their devices. So I bought a used Pixel and donated my newish Redmi to my GF.
I've pretty much gone back to my 2000s era mindset of "I don't need a smart phone when I have PCs in front of me at work and at home."
But really it's more like I already have an old smart phone but hate using it and never want to have to upgrade. We'll see what Motorola can make happen.
It is only a couple years ago that I bought my first iPhone. I still hate it.

fuuuuuk, I used to like SONY phones
Wow that's pretty fucked.
Let's end this bullshit once and for all, and go FOSS.
So you need to do a face ID to play games in PlayStation in some countries now??? WTF
Coming to a country near you!
Sad stuff.
OK, ty , exit Sony
