“We are going to defeat the project of death.” Students from the National University of Colombia on Wednesday rallied behind leftist candidate Iván Cepeda of the Historical Pact coalition. Supporters reject his Trump-backed opponent Abelardo de la Espriella’s far-right policies — including the building of mega prisons — stating, “We cannot go back to when young people were murdered and disappeared.” The two candidates face off again in a run-off election June 21.
