Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

And predictably the “state’s rights, small government” people will be silent on this

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

They never cared about that.

He really just wants to kill the economy and tourism, huh?

It's not like there aren't millions of average white collar workers who have to travel to Big Blue Cities for conferences because that's where all the major businesses are.

Nobody is flying to fucking Jackson or Biloxi in Mississippi for fucking conferences and business deals.

It's going to be aimed at places like NYC, LA, Seattle, Boston, and Portland. It's going to cripple international business and tourism.

Chudservatives will always cut off the noses to spite the face

Cuntservatives has a better ring to it.

I respectful disagree with your opinion

The Repedopublicans will let the likes of Pumpkinhead take a big steamer in their mouth if they think a liberal might have to smell it.

None of the right wing's grievance politics are about helping anyone, including redcaps.

I just saw some dipshit winger bitching about what California is doing for inmates - "they are giving them tablets!"

Just what the fuck any of their California Derangement Syndrome is supposed to do for redcaps? Who the hell knows.

All this nonsense is some kayfabe bullshit for dumbasses to think they "owned the libs". Meanwhile, the rich Epstein Class get even richer and the people cheering this nonsense on the hardest are probably still living in trailers, getting priced out of food and health care and any decent life.

Only in blue states so he can say:

“See, they also suck!”

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

You know, all the cities that people actually give a damn to visit from other countries.

They aren't gonna see this and go "Guess I'm riding to Mobile Alabama International"

They're just not gonna come to the US at all. No tourism dollars.

Imagine you get on a flight to New York and you end up in Texas. How fucked up is this how is this legal.

[–] SuiXi3D@fedia.io 5 points 1 day ago

Worse than that, middle of nowhere Texas. All the cities with the international airports are fairly liberal.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

People not from the US should KNOW BETTER than to travel to one of the shithole red states. The dumb bitch is trying to hurt blue states economies, even though we prop up the red shitholes...

So, um, what happened to the impeachment bill from early april? Still trickling down to the Judiciary comittee? I feel like it didn't take this long for Clinton's impeachment hearing...

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 1 points 1 day ago

The blue cities right?
