It's all corporate tokenism anyway. Every year I get reminded of that meme with evil corpo logos turning rainbows for their "support", and realise that's just the reality we live in.
Just watch as people go out of their way to defend such tokenism.
TBH, I'll take the stupid obligatory rainbow logos over corporations becoming afraid to sell anything with a rainbow on it because it's "too political."
Not so much "afraid" as much as the mask falling off. Means they don't give a shit about you, and the only reason why they'd stick a rainbow on anything is because they believe it'll turn you into a paying customer.
Or create positive feel-good PR that'll attract other customers.
(snicker) That's just capitalism run amok - the price we pay for living in the modern era.
I'm just curious why no one thought "We're going to celebrate Pride and then four days later CONSIGN THE GAYS TO HELL. Is that a good idea or should we maybe celebrate Pride after Diablo"?
If you're going to do pointless tokenism, at least don't do it in a way that makes you look like a twit.
