One good reason to not use a US based instance.

[–] oftheair@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Domestic terrorism activity", like anti-fascist sentiment? Okay, here goes: the German National Socialist movement of the 1930s and 40s was a genocidal cult led by a charismatic drug-addicted madman with a fragile ego who selected his cabinet based on who was the best bootlicker, denied the most basic facts before him, and threw repeated tantrums when he was denied something he wanted. He twisted and ignored laws to his own benefit, and forced passage of murderous laws through a complicit legislature and upheld by a complicit court system. He was also supported by the leading businessmen of the day because they wanted the power and money that would flow to their businesses, and they thought they were above the law. Him having uncontrolled access to the levers of power was inherently bad for the people of Germany, the surrounding states, and the world in general. He was an immature, drug-addled murderous psychopath with an outsized sense of grievance, no control over his temper, a desire for whatever latest shiny thing caught his attention, and no care for anyone outside his immediate family.

Only need to change 2 words and the year and it works for Trump. Wait is this about the rapist pedo Trump?

[–] CombatWombat@feddit.online 19 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Just a heads up, it would be trivial for the fbi to set up a dark listener to the fediverse and get a copy of every message in the network. We federate to anyone who wants to listen.

[–] belated_frog_pants@beehaw.org 13 points 1 week ago

They already have. Dont post anything online you wouldn't say to a feds face. Fediverse is extremely public.

It's not called the FEDiverse because it respects privacy

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 2 points 1 week ago

Yeah because before everything was so secure and private, you know, been a website on the internet and all

[–] unsubtle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Well yes but actually no? Instances don't just blast out all the content. FBI would have to subscribe to every. Single. Instance (or actor). Might be a bit obvious and easy to circumvent.

That's fine. My comments are handcrafted specifically to make whoever reads them (Patel) even stupider.

Y'all do post some wild shit sometimes. I mean fuck the FBI but some of you might want to tone things down a little. I just don't think it's healthy to have that much hate in your heart.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago

Trump needs to die, and I hope soon.

[–] PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@anarchist.nexus 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah the hate towards our oppressors is justified and literally never ever ever ever enough, but I wish that we were a little more careful about opsec (and by we I mean me lol).

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I just don't know how people can enjoy life with so much rage and hatred all the time. I mean I agree with the facts--oppression is harmful and needs to be stopped. But that doesn't mean I need to spend all day posting about how I want to torture them or stuff like that.

I just don't know how people can enjoy life with so much rage and hatred all the time.

I make time for those feelings, because otherwise I would be consumed by it.

But that doesn't mean I need to spend all day posting about how I want to torture them or stuff like that.

Amen.

The hate is cool, the bad opsec is not

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Who is, just ban him. Then learn to say things in a way you can't be convicted for.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

in reality it doesn't fucking matter how you say them, if you're in america and they decide they don't like what you said then you can be kidnapped without trial.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

We are rather well vulnerable in multiple ways. Still if you say something wrong you could end up with the federal case over it. And they are looking to make examples of people as such as well.

FBI: “The guy from Motörhead?”

[–] Kommeavsted@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Oh no it would be a shame if any comment was left out of this submission form! Every comment could be suspect so best to enter every Lemmy post and comment you see into the firm individually so they're easier to file and track!

I'm so scared 🙄
