Eh, Vader in the original trilogy was a pretty down to earth bad guy. At least until that Ewok thing.

The lightsaber is glowing right? So everything shiny like the cloak and armor should reflect the lightsaber light at least a little.
If you draw the environment around them you can also add more light sources or fog etc. which would add color.
You're meant to colour in the background, clearly.

Semi-unrelated thought—I think UV lightsabers would be freakin' neat, especially when they make stuff glow. Like, if Batman was a Jedi, I think he would have the UV lightsaber. Infrared could have some weird properties too.
They shoulda left Kylo white and made the troopers black so you had to change their color.
