I look up the game on cs rin ru and check the comments on the game topic, and see if anyone reputable enough dropped a link. Granted, it might not always be a torrent.

Thanks, this could be an alternative, but I generally avoid contributing password-protected torrent files because they can appear suspicious and make access less convenient for users.
Steamrip has been pretty good. Very easy to use on Linux too.
Edit: Sorry, should have read the post text. Yeah, those large downloads can be a pain.
Steamrip is great, but I’m mainly looking for torrents I can contribute to and seed long-term so more people can continue downloading them
In theory, anyone can create a torrent. Is there maybe a website that shares torrent links for SteamRIP?

There is leetx (in leetspeak) to. I only pirate in there basically, only when I'm shopping for games to discover that I go to fitgirl.
Oh, and there were cases when IGG released games with malware in them a long time ago, so be warned.
Thanks for the suggestion, but many of the games there are not updated frequently, or they have no seeders.

This usually happens with different versions of the game for different platforms (Windows/Mac/Linux, etc.).
