So, there's an upcoming event I enjoy, but also don't want to watch directly this time for political reasons.

I've never been in this spot before. Do I have any options, or do I just wait for it to be over, avoid any spoilers and look for a recording?

Edit: Thank you all! Ironically, I ended up super busy and missed it anyway. Good to know for next year, if geopolitics is still weird, though.

It really depends on the event and how much the organizers want to play whack-a-mole with illegal broadcasts. The only knowledge I have with pirating a live broadcast would be something like a big UFC fight. If you get really thick in the weeds where you are finding Twitch streamers that have 5 viewers and claim to be playing a UFC video game, some of them are broadcasting a real fight and are pretending to play with a controller

To download or just to watch?

Search engines won't give you the links anymore, you've to find them on communities, reddit is one such place I hate to say. But I stream tv all the time it just takes more work to find the links.

Yandex works fine, avoid Google and Bing.

There's usually some way to watch livestreams.

For sports, there's apps like Sopcast, Acestream, Kodi, Veetle, also any number of dodgy streaming websites that change all the time.

I usually download Eurovision, as the politics isn't new... Just more apparent.

Maybe find a Eurovision community and ask about alternate viewing methods? I'm sure there are other ways to watch live, which if you've got a gathering is the way to do it.

I wonder what kind of sweet prison tattoo you get for illegally streaming eurovision

I don't know, but somebody is going to have to keister some glitter for it.
