Happy mothers day everyone!

I dont have a mother lol so i took the day to do my makeup! Then decided to go to the forest?? It was hot and it got messed up immediately, oh well ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

This whole area of oregon was devastated by the Santiam fire in 2020, a particularly hot summer with strong winds and covid made this fire nearly impossible to contain. Its spread over 400,000 acres and burned from august to december when containment was reached.

This fire destroyed old abandoned town, inhabited town, campgrounds, powerlines and communication lines, and basically closed a large chunk of oregon for a year or more, with some places still closed and other places never being rebuilt. This fire stopped 40 miles from where i currently live! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Anyway, despite all the devastation, the forest will rebuild itself! And i think its beautiful that no matter what happens in an area like this, life will sprout again and the beauty of nature will overgrow any man made junk left over. Witnessing the rebirth of this place ive grown up in is special, even tho its sad theres not as many good camping spots out here, but the forest deserves a break!

Anyways, just like the forest will rebuild itself into what its supposed to be, you can too! โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Also just got my first piercing (nose) and it hurt more than expected but also healed really well and quickly.

Nose piercings are a bitch, by far my worst one. Just be careful with it, use lots of saline spray, and really fight the urge to change the jewelry until you cant wait anymore ๐Ÿ˜‚ for me that was about a month.

Also nose pins or the L shape ones suck ass. Youll tear them out of yourself everytime you go to bed or wake up. Really try to look for screw in ones, more rare to see but you can find them. Or get a hoop, by far the best option in my opinion cause then you dont ever have to mess with it. โค๏ธโค๏ธ

Are the screw in ones easy to remove at night? Do they leave a little bar in your nose or something? I want a little ring ideally but I'll stick with the stud if that's difficult to maintain.

Damn, 6 years? The 2006 Kyrill storm devastated Bohemian Forest and the dead trunks were never removed (only on the German side (left)), causing bark beetle to go haywire. The pic is from 2011 and the situation has since improved though.

I mean i imagine weve come a long way from 2006, but also Oregon does not mess around with its trees. One of the forest fires that was human caused they figured out who did it and pinned the entire cost of fighting the fire and the destroyed forests on the one guy, to the tune of several million, over 15million iirc.

hehe, while we aren't originally born in oregon (only moved here a few years ago), we did live in a very rural, wooded part of maine, so we totally get that urge too. its a very nice place to go when stress is too much. very grateful we can just hop on our bike and be in the pines in a matter of minutes.

I was sooo against getting piercing in the before times, but now im all about it and legitimately sad i cant get my tongue done (not enough space, i cant stick it out far enough ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ). Get pierced! It makes you more unattractive to conservatives which i count as a huge plus!

One day, sooner or later, we all become one with the forests. Just saying ๐Ÿ˜‚

Percings and forest!

I want to do some at some point. We'll see, I think I'll get my earlobe pierced at some point but I would need to see a good professional first to check if that's possible. (it could go bad for me knowing some history.)

I see, well piercing shops are very much you get what you pay for thing. You can get really cheap piercings where i am (25$ for my nose) but it also comes with tradeoffs (nose was by far the most painful for weeks and weeks afterward, and they didnt even ask what size i wanted)

Compare that to my ears, which i paid 100$ for, and its a night and day difference. The only real pain my ears put out was when i was trying to stretch my tender little earholes ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Going from 18G all the way to 0G was a bitch and a half, but thats not the piercers fault. I also stretched incredibly fast, with no side effects. Which i do attribute to the skill of the piercer.

Definitely, if your feeling like it might be a bad time, its worth investing time and money to get it right. Absolutely do consults first before the actual job, most piercers i know/have seen are very calming and reassuring, while also talking with you about your concerns. Hell i showed up to my navel piercing in some LOUD pink leggings, trans pride colors on shoes and wrist, and my trans pride "youre focused on the wrong 1%" shirt W/O my anxiety medication, and STILL felt pretty safe and comfortable in there. โค๏ธโค๏ธ
