First day training for my new role ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿซฐ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ˜˜

Good luck. โ˜บ๏ธ

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 10 points 3 months ago (3 children)

I spent a big chunk of yesterday cooking and cleaning for family dinner. Cooked for 6 adults. I made leek , bacon and chicken pies with steamed vegie sides. Delicious. I made 16 pies so I had lots left over. That was for dinner and lunches the rest of the week and some for the young Seagoons too.

Miss Seagoon made some dairy free brownies, which are delicious too. โ˜บ๏ธ

So, MIL asks to take some pies home. She's very elderly and doesn't cook anymore. I said no. She was angry but hid it well.

But she's so old.

I call this consequences. I offered 3 times over the years to cook all her meals and bring them to her frozen once a month. Free. She said no, saying she can't eat my cooking. Then she calls family and tells everyone I am mean and don't look after her

In the past when I gave her food to take home she refused to return containers and my good bags, even mocking me when I asked , saying she now uses them all for holding rubbish.

So the answer is no. She's lucky she gets anything at all.

Interestingly no one disagreed with me saying I should look after really old lady.

She made her bed, she gets to lie in it. Good on you!

Interestingly no one disagreed with me saying I should look after really old lady.

They see what's going on. They're familiar with her bullshit.

and yet no one has ever stuck for me, ever

the young seagoons will but they are only ones, also, they haven't had to yet

[โ€“] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 3 months ago

It can be difficult to stand up to your own parent, it's so often dismissed. Probably more so with how your MIL sounds. Everyone's probably rejoicing at someone giving her some friction for her behaviour.

[โ€“] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 3 points 3 months ago

F*cking good for you mate! ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸผI had similar with my exMIL.

[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 9 points 3 months ago (2 children)

boss hits me wanting to look at a site that had already come back online. I tell him all G and mention that a friend passed over this weekend.

his response? "Thanks"

I don't expect the world to stop but jesus fucking christ.

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago

Where's the fuckin' compassion?! Did he just not listen or just glossed over it? Hope you're doing okay though, sending hugs and warmth.

My will power failed me and I bought lots of chocolate and lollies.

Then I ate all the chocolate and some of the lollies and now I feel a bit sick.

But I still keep eating lollies anyway, because sugar.

Damn you, hormonally fueled appetite.

same, I bought a very small box of turkish delight , had 8 pieces in it, I ate them over two days as a mother's day special treat.

otherwise 2 weeks with no lollies so far

If you were a man in space, wouldn't your space junk be moving around a bit unless it was strapped to your leg or something?

[โ€“] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 9 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Not for a mission to Uranus

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Second this. I just spat out my cup of tea.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 3 months ago (3 children)

They probably have supportive undergarments. Same for women needing support for their busty substances.

When a man in space doesn't have undies on, it's called "going cosmonaut"

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 2 points 3 months ago

Hahaha. There's always one.

[โ€“] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 6 points 3 months ago

All monday work chores done, and it's only 11 am ish. Time to make inroads on the dreaded shredding. My offsider did a lot of it on Friday, but there's still a massive amount to feed into the mafchine. It's a good thing we get it picked up and turned into cardboard boxes.

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 3 months ago

It's great how easily available these are now.

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Listening to Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton and remember how great he is.

His cover of Baby Got Back is hands down the best (excepting weird al of course). Catchy af.

I'm at that stage health-wise where I wake up with a scratchy throat and a bunch of phlegm, but after a dose of a bunch of drugs I feel fine, and generally do for the rest of the day. It's like I need to clear out the system and have a bit of a kick-start to get going

[โ€“] StudChud@aussie.zone 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

bunch of phlegm

Mmmm a tasty treat before brekky

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I growl it out and hack it down the sink. Needs hot water to get moving

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

๐Ÿ˜‚

You do that in my sink, I'll make you go after it. ๐Ÿ˜ก

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I flush them down, I don't just leave them there

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Grollies go outside or in the toilet.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 3 months ago

I just installed everything again after the ALT+TAB reset on the work computer. My laptop wanted to install an update again so I played the brick lottery and it still works, and so does ALT+TAB again

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 3 months ago

yum yum, I just had a mothers day dairy free brownie for afternoon tea โ˜บ๏ธ
